Quote:These four Elements are said to be the Earth, Air, Fire, and Water of the Wise - that is to say, four types of activity. They are represented in notation of esoteric science by four different types of triangle. Fire is represented by a triangle upwards; Air by a similar triangle with a bar across it, thus indicating that Air may be esteemed as akin in nature to Fire, but denser. In fact, we should not go far wrong if we called Air, Negative Fire, or Fire, Positive Air. Water is represented by a triangle point downwards, and Earth by the same triangle with a bar across it; and to these two symbols the same principles apply as to their predecessors.

Supposing, then, we consider the Fire triangle as representing unconditioned force and the Air triangle representing conditional force, the Earth triangle as representing totally inert form and the Water triangle as representing an active type of form, we have another mode of classification available. In the most ancient myths, the air, or space-god, is the parent of the sun, celestial fire, and water is the matrix of earth. This comes out clearly on the Central Pillar of the Tree of Life, where Kether, space, overshadows Tiphareth, the sun centre, and the watery Yesod, the moon-centre, overshadows the earthly Malkuth.

The ability for the Tree of Life to explain metaphysical and spiritual principles and concepts, is why I love it! What other mysteries lie hidden within the glyph and the relationships of the Sephiroth and the paths? Wink

I would add to this that often in classical philosophy you will actually see Earth and Water combined as one element and hence you also see the three element arrangement of Fire, Air, Water but in fact Earth is included with Water.

Here is some explanation which is drawn from the First Knowledge Lecture of Golden Dawn (such as the version Regardie put out). The elements are composed of combinations of the two principles of temperature and moisture. So, we have:

Fire - Heat and Dryness
Air - Heat and Wetness
Earth - Cold and Dryness
Water - Cold and Wetness

In this context "heat" could very well refer to "force" and "cold" could very well refer to "form". This makes sense if you understand 'high vibration' to correspond with heat, high activity and 'low vibration' to be low activity. It is often said that matter is just energy at a slow vibration.

Another way to consider this is through simple chemistry. Oxygen is what feeds Fire and so the matter of Air becomes the matter of Fire when it is 'ignited'. Thus, they are the same matter of differing phases. Earth and Water are well demonstrated through ice whereby we see clearly that Earth and Water are also two forms of the same matter at differing phases. In truth, all the elements can be transformed in to eachother but there is distinction in particular between the 'hot' and the 'cold'. Consider this not just in terms of physical temperature but in terms of COLOUR and FEELING.

RE: Book of Thoth - Tarot
I was looking at some of the initiatory orders that I’ve come across in my studies and research, and This is what I’ve found:

Dion Fortune’s Order is in England, and they require members to physically participate in group ritual and ceremony once a month. So that’s out of the question for me as I live in North America. ...

Another interesting initiatory Order I looked into is the Aurum Solis (which means Gold of the Sun). They offer apprenticeship for one year, and if the course work is completed then one may apply for initiation into the First Hall. I think that’s my best bet. I’m reading some of the works from A.S. initiates right now, Denning and Phillips “Magical Philosophy Series”. As far as I can tell, I don’t see sorcery or LHP philosophy. In fact one of the major points made in the first book is that one’s work doesn’t harm others or other’s work. The chapter I’m on now is talking about the “divinization of the heart”. So the heart chakra is certainly included and not denied. This is an important point for me because left hand path denies and blocks the heart. Oscillation between orange and yellow is used in such a way as to blast into the higher energy centers. At least that’s how I understand it, I may be wrong.

The Ogdoadic (as Aurum Solis calls it) tradition is different than the Golden Dawn tradition, which is of Rosicrucian origin. It’s takes the Western approach, which I like. The Ogdoadic tradition has its roots in the mystical teachings of Byzantium and of the Near and Middle East. A.S. was founded in Britain in 1897.
Quote:Fully adapted to Western use, and containing much of thought and practice which is specifically Western in origin, this tradition is nevertheless an affirmation of the oneness of human nature, whether in ancient times or in the present, whether in man or woman, whether in East or West.

It wouldn’t hurt to apply for apprenticeship, would it? How else am I to assess whether I am prepared for the Mysteries? (In the book they pointed out that the student ripe for advanced work is one who is always saying “I need to do just one more thing before I’m prepared”. But there’s always that one more thing. They suggest that one can’t accurately take his “spiritual temperature”. Q’uo also says this in the channeling transcripts in a number of places.) With apprenticeship I’ll be able to look more into the philosophy and practices of the order to make sure that this is the right path of initiation for me.

Anyway, thank you all for listening and responding! I really appreciate it. It’s been nice to be able to talk with people who can understand me. There is no one I can turn to in my everyday life to talk about these things. (Some) People are just uninterested or they don’t understand or appreciate spiritual path.

Why are you scared of polarizing towards lhp? Ive been a guest on this forum for a while but only recently made an account. The website won't let me post my own entry and this seems like the best thread to ask... But back to the question.
Doesn't it seem naive to consider your actions rhp if you live in a first world area? Just your house alone requires a lot of lhp polarization to upkeep. It always seemed like disregarding information like that, while claiming "love of all beings" is an infinite lie and in reality is negative polarization.
Polarization towards negative 4th density for myself is the choice to serve myself so I can better serve others. Its also about not becoming part of the "Ra" happy-go-lucky social memory complex.
I guess what Im saying is the rhp that Ra wants you to be on, wouldnt be as deceiving as it is in the Law of One. The negative path outlined in the Law of One seems like the positive path outlined in real life.
How can you help others in a task you cant help yourself in? You can't, you just make others more lost. Wanderer. Which means polarization is necessary for you to focus on yourself before you can help polarize others, unless you want to be influencable by djin that want your energy.

I think this is positive polarization. Martyrism isn't negative but it isn't necessary for sto. Love needs to be balanced with wisdom anyway.

Where in Ra Material did you read that you have to totally neglect yourself to polarise towards positive? And Ra are of 6th density. That is past polarization.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father.

I know my choice, but you seem to be confused on what service to others and service to self means. I’m not afraid of turning to the LHP, but I know what’s in accordance to higher spiritual principles and what is not. I do not seek falsity, illusion, deception, and personal power to hoard over and to control others. I seek the one infinite Creator, and my means of doing that is the service to other selves. Much of occultism on our planet is of mixed polarity. Is dominating another man in a sado-masochistic relationship a positive thing to you? That’s how Crowley trained his apprentice, Victor Neuberg. Crowley believed himself to be positive, which btw, was the topic of the thread. Have you even read what we’ve been talking about? It seems not.

Magick is basically applied psychology. The work is done on the self. When one is advanced enough in his practice and work, he works with his group to raise the planetary vibration. This is what the white magical orders are doing. This is what Aurum Solis does, the Order that I was talking about.

Also remember what Ra said, if one is illumined, are not all illumined? I totally believe that, which means taking responsibility for your destiny. This is a serious choice. So what shall your choice be? Being confused in regard to polarity doesn’t help the individual.

Im not confused, I realized my path had chosen LHP a long time ago. I was asking why YOU see yourselves as rhp. Surely there is someone who could understand, that to say they love all, when they don't, is just as bad as to love none. Putting an invisible shield of fake positivity helps none but the entities that can induce selfish behavior's. And yes Ive been reading about the malkuth and your cults that you want to join. Frankly, all of that seems very lhp if you ask me. If the people on this thread truly lived rhp than I wouldnt have spoken. I think there's a lot more left hand pathers that don't realize it and it causes a greater disservice.
I dont need to read it from "Ra" but then again I also just cant post my own thread. I also dont see it as martyrism. But if your actions support the destruction of our planet and creating a toxic environment by harboring fake love, then you are lhp. If you drive a car, lhp and you dont love EVERYTHING as much as you say you do. Gas bill? Paid it with money from your job? Lhp.
Rhp: I seek to make changes and become more positive every day, when I choose to stop growing on this plane I shall move on to the next. My actions will become more loving towards others every waking moment.
Something along those lines would be rhp. Not just saying you love everything after you read a couple books and thinking youre doing some thing to make a difference when you're not.
