Confused - I lived for a short time in a very rural place in the SW corner of Oklahoma, USA. The property was just over 1 mile away from even any paved road, on a dirt road. It is an undeveloped part of the country, very little city life within about a 100 - 150 mile perimeter from the property. On a clear night, you can, almost literally, see forever into the stars. It is an excellent place to meditate.
I would venture to guess that if you could take a nap there, under those stars, even your shadow self would be subdued and feel the awe and splendor of the creation. Remember that your "shadow self" is still your self and needs love and attention, too. He, too, is loved and not alone.
And yes, I think I'd stay away from Jung for a little while.
