  Hi Everyone,

 I was wondering what the community's thoughts are regarding the Rosicrucians?
 
 I've been reading and watching videos regarding the Order,.....and found their Universe view to be very similar to our understanding.
 I felt the same "yes I've always known this" feeling upon hearing many of their speakers.
 (Ralph Lewis, Kristine Knutson, Lonnie Edwards, etc.)

 I feel very attracted to this Order. 

 Any thoughts?

Thank you Aion,.....I have been. The videos and writings all felt exactly like our community. same concept of oneness,...same type of "inner work",.....same everything.
What was most encouraging,....was finding another group,....with roots going back to the early 1600's,....speaking about the very same things Ra spoke of through Carla.
Especially the first three "manifestos", written back then. All speaking to the very things we are studying here in B4.
Yes, I was also very drawn to Rosicrucian teachings as well, in particular through my pursuit of the subject of Alchemy. In that regard there are various 'schools' which stem from the Rosicrucians, some of which are hybrid off-shoots, some which attempt to continue on as the original but all which generally tend to try to reach the same ideals. There are modern groups like the RR et AC, Builders of the Adytum, Hermetic Society of the Golden Dawn, AMORC, Ordo Stella Matutina and others which are working to keep these ideals alive in some fashion or another.

You may find some perhaps unexpected and even interesting information on this particular society of esotericists in this 1962 work by "Arkon Daraul", the pen name of a highly informed world-travelling Afghan-Scots (at home in East and West, speaking fluent English, Spanish, Latin, Arabic, Persian, Pashto, and other languages) who had a great psychoanthropological interest in the numerous forms of Man's various attempts over the ages and around the world to esoterically transmit various grades of "ancient higher knowledge" (both real and imagined; both efforts are educative).

In the modern West it is very poorly understood how the diffusion of the Sufi culture from Moorish Spain and other nominally Arab/Muslim civilizational areas was (and is still being) effected from our late Dark Ages to the present. The Rosicrucians were patterned originally on certain Eastern Sufi schools of alchemical and other symbolic form; many crucial elements were lost and many superfluous irrelevancies added in the transmogrification across cultures (much material had its origins in ancient post-Pharaonic Alexandria, that busy early melting pot of diverse creeds, cults, philosophies, and sciences from several continents). What were originally practical schools for perfecting human consciousness in the real world became (as with many another such inexpertly partly-handed-down-and-randomly-altered, now-sterile-and-merely-cultic system divorced from its functional-parent's organic origins, such as Freemasonry and Witchcraft) a highly intellectualized and emotionalized systematic presentation of a certain body of provocative traditions and beliefs tailored to the current time and place, usually for power, profit, and other control puposes. The actual consciousness-transformative capacity of the system is of a very low order, however beguiling its assembled facts and fancies on any and all sorts of esoteric metaphysics (much of which, since it deals with Egyptian traditions from the time of Akhenaten, necessarily echoes many facets of the Ra material). Having become over time strictly self-propagating social institutions, and elitist-oriented ones at that ("secret knowledge for the few!"), the probability of negative-polarity forms effectively suborning the system in cryptic (or even not-so-cryptic) fashion has reached approximately 100%.

Indeed, the Ra Material itself, though of a much higher order of signal-to-noise, and suffused with redundant positively-polarized failsafes and self-references, is perhaps most useful to the average amateur seeker-after-truth mostly as the basis for gaining a spacious-enough framework of knowledge of certain reality-patterns and principles ranging outside of the popular consensus-reality's purview; through contact with valid and true information, one can think more economically, becoming more realistic and flexible-minded; one's life improves in quality, one has more energetic spare capacity to face reality minus egotistic projections and fears and confusions, and thus one may better be able to find one's way through the prevailing fog of fear and disinformation to contact with a fully intact and functional present-day school of guided expedited evolution, which uses teaching material/situations selected in accordance with the needs of the time/place/seekers (a way of catalyzing breakthroughs in consciousness which might be termed 'applied specific experientialism'). Strangely enough, these groups are often "hidden in plain sight"; those seekers with negative preoccupations simply cannot perceive them, as the group-forms designedly take local conditioned-in negative blind-spots into account . . .


From Secret Societies:
    
     The episode of Johan Valentine Andrea is an interesting one in the Rosicrucian story. This writer was
a Lutheran, and it seems he used the order for the dissemination of Protestantism. The organization was
eventually penetrated by Catholics, who turned its bias towards support for Holy Mother Church. Andrea
now denounced the Order, and founded another, called the Fraternitas Christi. Then another Order -- the
'Blue Cross' -- sprang up. But later, with the inspiration of Andrea, Rosicrucianism spread far and wide.
Before 1785, when the Order was suppressed by the Austrian Emperor (who spared the Freemasons alone
in his drive against secret societies) the society had a well-established method of initiation. . . .

     What was the meaning of the rose and cross device? It is more than possible that there was no such man
as Christian Rosenkreuz (Rose Cross); but it is a singular coincidence that Andrea was a fervent Lutheran --
and Martin Luther's coat of arms bore a rose and cross. Other guesses have also been hazarded to account
for this symbolism. The cross, according to the alchemists, stands for Light: so the meaning may be 'Light
of the Rose'. If this is so, there is a curious parallelism with the Arabic school of illuminati who followed
Abdelkadir Gilani. His device is a rose, and he is known as the Light of the Rose. The path of practical mysti-
cism which this Sufi established in the twelfth century at Baghdad was (and is still, for the Kadiri Order is an
important one) called Sebil-el-Ward (The Path of the Rose). Still stranger, in some Eastern countries, the word
Sebil (Path) is sometimes mispronounced colloquially as Selib (Cross). But the initiation and other ceremonies
and tenets of the Rosicrucians do not seem to accord in any one particular (save that of spiritual alchemy) with
those of the followers of the Path of the Rose. It is just possible that the Baghdad Order did influence Western
mysticism, if only because practically the totality of the alchemy of the Middle Ages was passed to Europe by
the Arabs. Among another secret mystical cult of Syria, the word Wird (which means secret conjurations, repe-
titions of words of power, devotional exercises, and is a technical term of Islamic mysticism) is represented by
a symbol (the rose) which is Ward, as a mnemonic. The Path of the Wird, if this were taken as a direct transla-
tion, would be immediately understood by any member of an Arab, Persian, or Pakistani mystical order to this
day.

     The only trace in Western literature which might connect Rosicrucianism with Sufism, however, apart from
the strange coincidence of names, is the mention of the practices of the Spanish Illuminati. They are mentioned
at times as being connected with the Rosicrucians. There are grounds for believing that they had associations
with a Moslem mystical Order; but it is their method of carrying out their spiritual concentration which links them
strongly to the Sufi mystics. As with the Sufis, the Illuminati (Alumbrados) of Spain, before they were suppressed
as heretics by the Church, practised concentration upon the will of their master or teacher in a supernatural or
'illuminated' union of minds. The Alumbrados were put down in 1623, by an edict of the Grand Inquisition.

     If Rosicrucianism was in fact an adaptation of sublime Eastern thought or not, it soon deteriorated from its
marvellous claims -- at least in the person of those who professed or supported its doctrines.

     In England the mystic, Robert Fludd, became its staunch protagonist in 1616. The true Rosicrucians, he said,
(although he was plainly not one of them), were continually travelling through the world, unknown by the vulgar
mass. They were sublime personages: the sons of God were not known to the world; because they did not want
to be known. Heydon, who was born in 1629, was another of their followers and defenders. This lawyer wrote
that they were the real guardians of the sublime secrets, that they were of the nature of Moses, Elias, and others
and they were seraphically illuminated. . . .

     The various splinters from the Rosicrucians themselves formed Orders and cults, which cropped up almost
everywhere that credulous or gullible people could be found. Some of them became quite powerful, others cen-
tred around a leader or Magus, who merely made money out of admission fees.

         [The spurious organisations offered multiple ascending initiatory degrees of closely-held "wisdom", each with
its own price -- such a one was the offshoot cult, the Asiatic Brotherhood.]

     It was not until the higher degrees that the revelation of secrets began. Whether there ever were any such
secrets is open to the most serious doubt, partly because what are generally referred to as 'secrets' in mystical
orders are connected with ecstatic experience. The training for the receiving of this experience does not seem
to have been given in any form by the Rosicrucians. There was a great deal of symbolism, but nothing is said
(even by apostates from the Order) about mystical experiences. If this is not true of all Rosicrucianism, it cer-
tainly was of the Asiatic Knights, which were rightly called "a fee trap of no mean order" -- like the spurious
Masonic degrees. . . . This is a mere sample of numerous spurious and other initiations whose candidates where
kept on tenterhooks, expecting that one day, when they attained a high enough degree, all would be made
manifest to them. It seems that it never was.

     The movement still thrives. Lavishly produced and privately published books continue to appear, purporting
to contain the truths of Rosicrucianism. They are, of course, unintelligible to the general public. It is not until he
joins and reaches the requisite degree of initiation (and has shown his patience) that the candidate can partake
of these delightful mysteries.

     The position today is so confused that it is more than possible that some of the various societies known as
being of the Rose Cross are teaching doctrines which differ widely from those which have become known as
Rosicrucian ones. A recent writer goes so far as to suggest in this connection that teaching and knowledge changes
with the age in which it is given out. Hence, for all that anyone knows, new truths and real knowledge may be
available from such sources. The English Rosicrucian Society told its members in 1871 that it was purely interested
in antiquarianism and literature, and not in the supposed secrets of the original Order.

Questioner: I was thinking last night that if I were in the place of Ra at this time, the first distortion of the
Law of One might cause me to mix some erroneous data with the true information that I was transmitting
to this group. Do you do this?

Ra: I am Ra. We do not intentionally do this. However, there will be confusion. The errors which have occurred
have occurred due to the occasional variation in the vibrational complex of this instrument due to its ingestion of
a chemical substance. It is not our intent in this particular project to create erroneous information but to express
in the confining ambiance of your language system the feeling of the infinite mystery of the one creation in its
infinite and intelligent unity.

Exclusion

Rais el-Aflak, 'The Lord of the Skies', who suddenly appeared in Afghanistan and then disappeared after giving
a number of cryptic lectures, said:
     'Almost all the men who come to see me have strange imaginings about man. The strangest of these is the
belief that they can progress only by improvement. Those who will understand me are those who realise that
man is just as much in need of stripping off rigid accretions to reveal the knowing essence, as he is of adding
anything.
     'Man thinks always in terms of inclusion into a plan of people, teachings, and ideas. Those who are really the
Wise know that the Teaching may be carried out also by exclusion of those things which make man blind and deaf.'
