I would like to share something I came across that I thought was very beautiful. Since we have so much in the form of modern-day insights, writings, and opinions about the esoteric, I thought it would be fun to share insights from the past if anyone is inclined to.

This is from a letter written by Fra Giovanni in 1513 to a friend:
Quote:I am your friend and my love for you goes deep. There is nothing I can give you which you have not got, but there is much, very much, that, while I cannot give it, you can take.

No heaven can come to us unless our hearts find rest in today. Take heaven!

No peace lies in the future which is not hidden in this present little instant. Take peace!

The gloom of the world is but a shadow. Behind it, yet within our reach is joy. There is radiance and glory in the darkness could we but see - and to see we have only to look. I beseech you to look!

Life is so generous a giver, but we, judging its gifts by the covering, cast them away as ugly, or heavy or hard. Remove the covering and you will find beneath it a living splendor, woven of love, by wisdom, with power.

Welcome it, grasp it, touch the angel's hand that brings it to you. Everything we call a trial, a sorrow, or a duty, believe me, that angel's hand is there, the gift is there, and the wonder of an overshadowing presence. Our joys, too, be not content with them as joys. They, too, conceal diviner gifts.

Life is so full of meaning and purpose, so full of beauty - beneath its covering - that you will find earth but cloaks your heaven.

Courage, then, to claim it, that is all. But courage you have, and the knowledge that we are all pilgrims together, wending through unknown country, home.

And so, at this time, I greet you. Not quite as the world sends greetings, but with profound esteem and with the prayer that for you now and forever, the day breaks, and the shadows flee away.

面白い.

However, it seems to me that the idea expressed by this letter's message is analogous to the idea of a kindred spirit soothing another one in the midst of a journey. It comes from the journey's current ongoing process, from the present (as tribulated as it may be) and it ends in the current process, the present moment, once again.

This is but a part of the point of human experience. Once you make peace with your Self, what do you do next? To where do you point your intention, what is your end-goal? Fulfillment is a great reminder that "everything is well, even if it doesn't appear". That's fine. Once you come to the grips with the fact that everything is well, would you choose to sit in wellness or to grow further?

What this letter lacks, in my opinion, is this growth-oriented part perception.

In addition to this, I sincerely think that in a planet like Earth and in 3d, growth doesn't come merely by being at peace with yourself. While One Self suffices for One Self, we're in the midst of a world filled with billions of similar Other One Selves. The reflexivity between One, Another, and The Whole is one of the ingredients that promote growth in consciousness, as long as there is a clear orientation and direction to go to.

The problem with satisfaction with one's current state of affairs is that while in this state one can't really grow because one isn't actually moving towards an objective, putting one's self into the strain of growing.

What do you do?
I think we all do at some level have this orientation to share our own healing, whether vocally, whether well here in writing, or subliminally somewhat in meditation, or prayer, or acts of love. The love energy is there, and it is powerful, radiating. Don't you all think somehow ?
Here we are in 2020 discussing some text from the 1500s. Imagine how the guys writing that didn't have the faintest idea it'd be translated and sent ahead 500 years in the future.

Reminds me of this talk from the early 90s:

"The walls will come down. And you know and I know the Berlin wall came down not because of tanks or guns or chemical weapons or politicians. The Berlin wall was brought down by electrons. Virtual reality screens around the world will all see that. *bang bang bang bang* The walls will start coming down. The walls of language will go down. The French were right language is the ultimate tool of the oppressor..."

"The walls of nationality will go down. Of class will go down. Why? Because brainpower. Brains hooked up together sending brains to our eyeballs electronically around the world will link up."
