I came up with a little metaphor comparing the 4D "alternative" to the Confederation with populists in politics.

"Look", say the 4D populists, "the evidence is all around you." The world we live in sucks. You know why? The populists explain, "those establishment a******* took over back in prehistory, destroying the golden age lost to your records."

The alternative? "The similarity between the word 'origin' and the name Orion is not a coincidence. The roots are the same." They are, they say, the real benevolent original order, and they just need a little assistance in order to get the power to kick out the present establishment.

"Go with us and we will restore you to your former existential glory", away from the present miserable conditions which are the consequences of an ancient fall from grace.

It's easy enough, they say, to prevent the hijacking of their revolution in consciousness as it gains traction. Simply prevent the bad guys from destroying it all. And the representatives of the up-and-coming new order will teach you to spot the bad guys, and means to remove them from your environment.

The problem, of course, is that such populists will say anything in order to win more power from those who listen.

"By now you know those reptilians are the bad guys above." Capitalizing on what's become common knowledge about some types of negative beings, they then go on to tell you who's with who. But the 4D populists themselves, of course, have nothing to do with those reptilians they happen to know so much about.

At the end of each day, they go home and play with their reptilian pets while handing out new orders to the controlled oppositions, fueling the next dramas likely to win them another power grab.
Are you supposing that Confederation is like the populists and is lying to us?
I haven't been on the forum for a week, so only replying now.

No. I meant the opposite. The "alternative" to the Confederation, i.e. the opposite side, was compared to populists.
To fill in more, and address the weakness of the comparison, I have been thinking more about what the current "establishment" is.

Our world is not a grown-up higher-density Confederation world. Yet, it is within the sphere of the Confederation, as in growth towards a future proceeds under their umbrella and loose supervision.

By contrast, there are messages from other sources claiming to be STO which present Earth as a "prison planet" mainly directed by 4D STS, and the role or even real existence of the Confederation is dismissed. The Cassiopaeans, for example, speak of a new world joyously being born after the painful destruction of most of what existed before, and the cosmos "cleaning house" on Earth so that the bad influences are swept away.

Either way, this touches on the big old problem of why so much suffering and "evil" exists in this world. Obviously, it is not the case that positive beings directly decide what happens in this world, generally. There's also flaws in the "prison planet" explanations, according to which Earth is already part of the evil empire and the struggle is the struggle to break free. A third explanation, closer to Ra's but not quite the same, also exists, and partially bridges the gap towards "prison planet" explanations.

Gurdjieff gave such an explanation, as recounted by P. D. Ouspensky. Most of the "evil" in this world is "mechanical evil", it happens because of a lack of conscious direction, instead of because of negative direction. This world is part of the creation with a positive logos above, but there's a distance filled by incompleteness, by something on the planetary or solar system level not having grown up. That's why things suck here, until the world itself, in a sense, grows up enough to become truly consciously directed. In the absence of consciousness, there's only mechanical laws and processes, and they make for painful and senseless life experiences.
