RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - BrownEye - 10-12-2013 It was a quartz hologram. I asked about it and was told "go to sleep". Seems that I would learn more through the dream state. I kept asking what it was I saw and wrote out "soul". So I guess it would be considered the awareness using the device. RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Rake - 01-23-2014 I recently bough a piece of goshenite after my 'body' picked it in a reiki healing session. One thing I have noticed is that after having the stone in my hat for an hour or so, my eyes became itchy. Which made me think about my hayfever that I get around late spring each year. I'm wondering if there is a difference in energy throughout the seasons and my body reacts to the new energy. Like with how it does when the crystal is close to me. I'v also realized that my body will manifest allergic reactions when I am not grounded. RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Fastidious Emanations - 01-25-2014 Anyone has experience with Pyrite? It is an good conductor and seems to work a lot with the solar plexus energies, usually in a bolstering kind of manner. I find it also works really well as an amplifier, especially in crystal grid formations. I think it is also useful for any work involving working with the Ego. RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Aureus - 01-25-2014 (01-25-2014, 03:52 PM)primordial abyss Wrote: Anyone has experience with Pyrite?I use it daily. Started off a year ago with around 15g. Today I'm up to 150g(sphere). Gives a nice solar plexus boost. Makes you a bit stronger, sharper and more focused. It helps to cool you down and ventilate, prevents excess energy from turning into anger. When kept in a pillowcase, it makes your dreams more civil. It also combines great with other crystals. There's really no reason not to carry it around. RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Unbound - 01-25-2014 I didn't know it had any effect on dreams, does it have to be so close or would on my bedside table work? RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Aureus - 01-26-2014 Anything that alters your energies will alter your dreams. Yellow is self-control and acting civil etc. About the proximity of the crystal.. I'd say it doesn't really bring any noticable effect if kept on the bedside table. When I use crystals for meditation, even keeping them in my pockets vs. my hands, is quite a difference.(Hands more effective). RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Unbound - 01-26-2014 Yes, I suppose that is true, I don't dream very often so I guess it is something I haven't considered much but it seems obvious now that that would be the case aha I agree that direct physical contact is the most effective, although I do have a knack for tuning in to crystals without touching them so maybe I will have to experiment with that. If I keep crystals in my pockets I usually put them in small pockets that are right against my body, if I don't there isn't much effect unless I consciously tune myself to them. Do you think the hands in particular are good for receiving, as opposed to on some other part of the body? RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Aureus - 01-26-2014 I suppose it's possible to tune into them, give it a try and share the results! I think it's about how much of your body's surface is in contact with the crystal. A hand can completely wrap around a crystal. Compared to when kept in a pocket, only one side is in "contact" with the skin. RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Fastidious Emanations - 01-26-2014 its about magnetism, and magnetic/electric/gravitational pull falls off exponentially as the 'distance' is increased between two interacting bodies in question. So technically its a matter of the force that this vortex machine offers due to speed of rotation and relative balancing. Not that I have much experience. RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Unbound - 01-26-2014 Hmm, I definitely see how more contact would create a greater communication. I have practiced quite a bit with tuning in to crystals from a distance though. I have a big group of crystals all along a side mantle in my house and I can sit and tune in to crystals individually from across the room and also detune from them. However, that is a conscious thing, so Im not sure that would be very effective while I am sleeping... I could maybe set up a crystal grid that creates an output of energy of whichever crystal I would like to have a field, maybe that will work. RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Aureus - 01-26-2014 I have zero experience with "crystal grids", always brushed it off as new age stuff. How would you compare the effect between the holding of a crystal vs. creating a structure with crystals of the same type? RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Unbound - 01-26-2014 I see holding a crystal or making contact with it as an act of connection and so the physical interaction is what forms the connection between your field and the crystal. I believe this is a way in which we use our intention, "I am touching it, therefore connected to it." I believe that connection can be made purely with the intention, however the tangible experience of actually holding the stone is a very direct experience and is more about internal connectivity. A grid which creates a field is more about affecting the atmosphere of a room. I have used crystals in a grid both by themselves and in conjunction with one of the devices that BrownEye makes. The main thing I notice is that creating such a field will create a new field of vibration in the space, however the individual around it may not connect with it in an internal sense because no intention of connection has been made such as is automatic with holding a stone or having it against your skin. I have made some fields which produces tangible effects that others which are normally not so sensitive to those things have been able to feel quite blatantly, but at the time they were also open to the suggestion of being connected to the field, so I think that enabled them to open up to the field being made. The effects of a grid field are definitely more subtle however, and it takes more concentration to "pick up" and identify the vibration as you are connecting to it. When you are touching a stone directly you can directly feel its vibration in your hand, but if you are just connecting to the field you need to be able to differentiate between different vibrational fields that are in the space. This is something I still have much to learn with but it is fun to work with. What I usually do to practice is just sit with a stone in front of me, on a table or wherever, in my sight and I basically extend my energy to the stone, while also having the intention to receive and form a connection with it.it is kind of like feeling out with my mind to touch the stone rather than with my physical body. Doing this with a few different stones you can see if you are able to pick up the vibrations of each by comparing between them to see if you are getting a different experience of vibration with each one. I think the key is that an ambient effect will not do anything unless you are actually putting in the intention to circulate energy between yourself and the ambient field. For some people this is too subtle to be useful for them, but I find it is really good for managing the atmosphere in my home, personally. I would add that I think most people approach crystal grids by just placing crystals together in formations, but I believe there is a second step whereby you have to link the crystals together with intention in order to create a circuit of energy between them and it is this circuit which powers the grid. RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Fang - 01-26-2014 lol you hippies and your crystals Quote:When kept in a pillowcase, it makes your dreams more civil. Dude, just so you know, this is the funniest thing I've read all day, lol cheers ![]() I do have a question though for you guys as I basically know nothing about crystals other than that they have a crystalline grain structure lol My question is, does fading occur from human contact? It would make sense for sun and moonlight (reflected sunlight) to cause fading as has been mentioned already in the thread but I've only had one crystal and within one meditation session (the day I got it) while holding it in my hands it had no colour left. Is it better to hold them in pockets or just have them nearby? Edit: it was an amethyst if that makes any difference lol RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Fastidious Emanations - 01-26-2014 @Fang, what type was it? Crystals change as they grow, as do we, circumstantially. RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Fang - 01-26-2014 Edit: Do people sometimes apply dye to these stones in an effort to sell them as special? RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Fastidious Emanations - 01-26-2014 I was just gonna lol if you had paint on your hands after. The first 'metaphysical bracelet' I received was made of plastic, coated in some kind of hard red 'rock-like' substance. So there is faking. But amethyst is pretty common so it would be unlikely. Amethyst I find are useful for very precision tuning, and therefore not always the most applicable for balancing. Therefore you may not have had ease in feeling the tone of the stone.
RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Jade - 01-26-2014 Did you feel anything from it? Unfortunately there are so many fakes made internationally that it might be possible that you unwittingly stumbled upon a painted piece of glass. I've heard of stones cracking after completing a programmed intent or becoming overstressed, I'm sure color change is possible in these instances as well. Also keep in mind that some crystals are very water soluble so if you get clammy while holding something some of the stone might dissolve, and if it's polished this could very much alter its color. I don't think this would happen with an amethyst. RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Unbound - 01-27-2014 (01-26-2014, 08:04 PM)Fang Wrote: Edit: Do people sometimes apply dye to these stones in an effort to sell them as special? Yes, actually, dyed stones are quite common and in my experience it is metaphysically "damaging" to the stone because it interrupts the crystalline structure. However, there are lots of cases of stones changing or losing colour from various things. One thing about using a stone in meditation like that is that your body is producing both heat and an electrical charge which can affect the structure of the stone if there is enough energy put in to it. I have a friend who would shatter hematite rings every time he used them practicing with his energy. I believe there is actually a process of heat whereby amethyst can be artifically made from another type of quartz crystal, so maybe you had one of those and your own charge affected the structure. Amethyst is really just a type of quartz so it is hard to say. Brittany on here has a number of smokey quartz which used to be almost black and are gradually becoming white of their own accord it seems. Hard to say, but it is interesting when it happens! I notice after working with one clear quartz I have that it seems to be getting more complex with its internal facets. RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Fastidious Emanations - 01-27-2014 Does anyone here try spending long time gazing into them? I hear that there is ways of 'entering into' these crystals with consciousness (particularly quartz types). RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Unbound - 01-27-2014 I have worked with crystals quite a bit in that way and sometimes it can be a powerful gateway in to a trance state. There have been times where I have learned some very startling things about myself gazing in to stones, particularly clear quartz and black tourmaline. I met a lady who did akashic record readings and she would enter in to the trance channeling state by working with a quartz crystal. Quite an interesting reading in any case aha RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Aureus - 01-27-2014 I've never had a crystal "fade".. sounds strange. While there may be fakes out there, once you learn how the crystal is supposed to look, there shouldn't be a problem(as long as you recieve the same item as in the description). The crystals I've found useful are all super dense in color, basically no translucency at all. To be really sure.. find out the density of the crystal in question, find measurements and see if it adds up. Pyrite for example is very heavy, and you'd need a huge chunk of glass(and a professional paintjob) to fake it. About Fang's "amethyst". I've carried amethysts around in sweaty palms on several occasions and never have they changed appearance :p RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Fang - 01-27-2014 Sorry, took a while to retrieve the memory in full lol It was a "chevron amethyst" approximately 7 and a half centimeters long in a V shape, it was white and purple. After the session it was basically just white lol with very faint purple lines where previously they were rather striking. I did "feel" something from it but at the time I was pretty sure I was "feeling" connections to everything lol, weird time in my life. Quote:I've never had a crystal "fade".. sounds strange. Perhaps you lack the power of my meditation technique, lol But on the real, cheers for all the input guys. RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Jade - 01-27-2014 Ah, banded/chevron amethyst is a bit more of a "special type" of amethyst. Oh well, another mystery explored but not solved hehe. You could always try again! In other news, I had a dream last night where my sister wanted to trade me for 2 purple pens I had received, and she brought out a giant (2x3ft) carved amethyst horse. It was all one solid shade of purple so I was very wary that it might be fake, so we scoured it under different lights and learned that it was actually pieced together from different stones that had difference levels of translucence, so that assured me it was real stone. In retrospect upon waking, it really looked more like lavender jade than amethyst, but the dream is still strangely applicable to the thread. ![]() ETA: This dream occurred "at school". RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Fastidious Emanations - 01-27-2014 Technique, eh.. ![]() Sounds like fun! ![]() If you could drain the purple from these bad boys I will laud you! RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Fastidious Emanations - 02-18-2014 Quote:Amethyst represents the most popular variation of naturally colored quartz. Owing to its magical purple color, it was highly esteemed in the past. The physical origin of its color, however, is not completely explained up to date. Today, it is generally accepted that Amethyst ’s purple color is a results of the presence of iron ions within the quartz crystal lattice. These iron ions constitute the so-called "color centers", responsible for the change of color from white to the various shades of purple.~http://www.sunnyray.org/Amethyst.htm RE: the Crystal Knowledge thread - Rake - 02-18-2014 (05-16-2013, 08:00 PM)Spaced Wrote: One thing that I would like to say about soaking your crystals . . . make sure they aren't water soluble first Totally had a bath with my selenite sphere.... This could include porous minerals, nothing synthetic (obviously ).

BrownEye has taken leave I think. If you have some money to invest pick up a British Berkefeld or a Berkey Filter. Both housings are pretty much the same though there are some discrepancies with the appraised Black Candles the Berkey Filter uses, so avoid those. I'd go for the Berkefeld, and stick with the Super Sterasyl ceramic candles. Those things are awesome and the water tastes fantastic. I wouldn't recommend any home made jobs in terms of simply using porous materials though, so I'm not sure what budget solutions there might be other than to use the filter elements the Berkefeld uses and make your own housing which I've seen others do. |
