RE: Psychedelics for Mental Health Tx - xise - 06-09-2014 Also, your focus is highly suggestive to visual and energy and moods of others (words less so) , so usually not a good idea to have the tube/radio on else something like two ppl disagreeing on the tube can send you into a deep contemplation of disharmony. RE: Psychedelics for Mental Health Tx - AnthroHeart - 06-09-2014 Psychedelics turned my carpet into a raging sea that was peaceful to watch. And my entertainment center became melting paints. It also made my laptop look like an old 1980's model. When I did them with a friend, we had so much in common to talk about. I was on the other side of insanity, but I found comfort in insanity. RE: Psychedelics for Mental Health Tx - reeay - 07-04-2014 Scientists find how magic mushrooms alter the mind Quote:LONDON (Reuters) - Scientists studying the effects of the psychedelic chemical in magic mushrooms have found the human brain displays a similar pattern of activity during dreams as it does during a mind-expanding drug trip.http://news.yahoo.com/scientists-magic-mushrooms-alter-mind-104344187.html Dreaming is one way our brain and our mind 'resets' itself (like calibrating or 'de-frag' if you want to use computer/mechanical terms). When we use psychedelics then, it's possible to be more 'aware' in our dream-like experiences than we are sleeping. One phrase the researcher used was 'perturb the system' - to give it stimulation or catalyst to 'jiggle' the brain and mind to allow deeper exploration of self. This is exactly what other therapy technique does ![]() Dreaming is very important when we want to process information - when people with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder want to process their distressful catalyst, they end up having nightmares bc the mind just cannot process what happened. Nightmares are a kind of an indication of - 'failure to process'. Therefore, when we are deeply disturbed, our natural healing function (dream) is compromised. It's almost like the mind is constipated and there is no relief... Magic shroomies, if they help induce a dream-like brain state, would then help people to open that possibility to process distressful experiences in a conscious and (hopefully) safe environment. Ecstasy is also being investigated: Quote:British researchers have been exploring the potential of psilocybin to alleviate severe forms of depression in people who don't respond to other treatments, and obtained some positive results from early-stage experiments. People have been using this stuff all 'wrong' lol. I guess this is how 'drugs' work (any drugs) - when used for the process of healing it may yield very positive experiences. Using it to have fun, mask problems, or to bypass catalyst can potentially go nowhere... but that could differ based on the individual. RE: Psychedelics for Mental Health Tx - BrownEye - 07-04-2014 Iboga Quote:Long term, if not permanent effects include increased psychic sensitivity, the ability to visualize internally in crystal clarity, and an increased magnetism for manifestation. Greater intelligence, clearing of brain fog, eloquence in speech, and a lighter, more youthful energy are also often reported. The most important effect of Iboga is the reconnection to free will. Many go in thinking they are free and come out realizing the thousands of choices they make each day are a result of reacting to programming and cultural narratives that are fabricated deceptions aimed at limiting personal liberty. Quote:Time slows down on Iboga, and while you lie consciously awake and in control, your brain remains in an REM dream state where you have both read/write access to your subconscious mind’s hard drive.http://www.wakingtimes.com/2014/01/24/iboga-matrix-pineal-gland-decalcification/ RE: Psychedelics for Mental Health Tx - AnthroHeart - 07-04-2014 You think ayahuasca can work for PTSD? |
