Eight months on, is the world's most drastic plastic bag ban working?

Quote:Kenya’s ban comes with the world’s stiffest fines and some businesses are struggling to find affordable alternatives, but in Nairobi’s shanty towns the clean-up is changing lives

Waterways are clearer, the food chain is less contaminated with plastic – and there are fewer “flying toilets”.

A year after Kenya announced the world’s toughest ban on plastic bags, and eight months after it was introduced, the authorities are claiming victory – so much so that other east African nations Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and South Sudan are considering following suit.

Nothing silly about that if you don't do it every day. Wink First copy & paste or type your self-created title, then mark the line with your mouse or touchpad, then click on the chain link symbol right above the editing window, and paste in the url of the page you want to link to. The rest does the system for you (sounds more complicated than it is). Smile But a simple link is just as fine. Will check out that documentary and share the article now - sounds lovely. Thank you! Heart
