MY PARANORMAL EXPERIENCE - robert2828 - 10-20-2014
I'm new here and have had one paranormal experience in my life, which happened last week and sort of freaked me out
Ive been meditating just for a few weeks. Im 56 year old guy, usually in good health,but recently had big health scare . Was going for cat scan and very nervous. Meditating was helping me relax, especially one youtube healing guide . In the meditation exercise you ended up in a big comfy room with lots of sun and books and a very comfortable chair. Also later you were in a waterfall being "healed", but the chair in the room was what really enticed me. I felt this chair was the same wonderful comfy chair i used to sink into in my beloved grandmother's house back in the 70s and 80s.
Anyway a few days after doing the exercise I got into a nice relaxing meditation, without a guide, just music and breathing basically.While doing this I thought maybe i can go back to that wonderful room and comfy chair without a guide, so I slowly pictured the exercise, finding the door through the fog, slowly ascending the stairs to this wonderful room and the chair. When I got into the chair, I knew it was my grandmother's chair, I started seeing my grandmother in this room smiling at me. I was feeling my love for her. I saw my uncle looking at me from her old kitchen. I was very relaxed, very peaceful. By the way these people had passed years ago. The next thing I know, the chair was now turned and as I was still sitting in it, almost facing a small stage. AS I looked up my grandmother reappeared and my grandfather was with her. She laughed and looked down at me and said "You got another 40 years", then to her right suddenly I saw my other grandparents, smiling, and my other grandmother was reaching for me.
While still meditating, I could feel tears in my eyes, and I thought "my grandmother must be my guardian angel" And then, so help me, I saw a figure emerging from the back behind the grandparents, and coming, so it seemed to me, right through them. I knew instantly this my father, who died when I was just 3 months old.
THEN I REALLY GOT THE WILLIES, because I actually physically felt this sort of huge chill on my right arm. It started between my hand and elbow and went up between the elbow and shoulder. As this presence touched me, he said "I will take care of you. I am the one who watches you" (something like that but i knew this was my father and my angel).
I lay there for a bit, crying like a baby, and seconds after this "encounter" the meditation music stopped, as if right on queue.
I am very cynical by the way, I believe in an afterlife and these things could exist somehow, but I had never experienced anything even remotely close to this. I still have chills thinking about it and have shared it with only one person. By the way, my cat scan showed something most curable (a stone) and everything horrible was ruled out. I offer this story to get some feedback. I know I had a powerful experience. Thank you.

Robert, your experience fits perfectly well with everything I know to be true of the larger reality. These experiences are very meaningful (and it's so nice to know we continue to be loved by those who have passed on), but if you spend some time exploring your own being through meditation and a focus on growing in loving-kindness in your daily life, this sort of thing becomes the norm, just another part of life.
The Universe is stranger and more wonderful than any sci-fi or fantasy author could have ever conceived - and that includes the absolute magic of being human, once we become aware of the miracle that is occurring constantly and eternally within and around ourselves.
Now, what are you planning to do with your 40 years?

Welcome, Robert, to these forums. You might have bitten off a little more than you could chew for a first experience, but not much. Let yourself process it a few days, if you wish, to return to a comfort level. The Law of One material is a grand source of information about the universe and our part in it, and these forums have answers, too.
