Meditation tips? - Deekun - 08-27-2010 I have been trying to meditate for quite a while now. My mind is just racing most of the time while doing so and almost like clockwork when I am finally calming something clicks, makes noise, car alarm goes off, etc. What are some things that help you meditate and how exactly do you know if you are doing it right? Yesterday I tried to force myself to meditate for so long my legs had gone numb and it was quite painful when I was trying to move ![]() Oh and one last thing, how can I remove the weird feeling I get like something is watching me while I try to meditate ![]() RE: Meditation tips? - Peregrinus - 08-27-2010 I would ask you to consider that you are trying too hard. That wasn't a question. Rather than trying to meditate, just meditate. One cannot force it. It must flow naturally as the river flows. In almost all occasions, the beginning of river is turbulent and wild, and the farther it travels, it in places becomes deep and wide and slow. Have patience. Your river will slow. If you want help, ask for it. Ask your higher self and/or Ra, Hatonn, Latwii. Ask them by name either mentally or out loud. They will hear you, something like "Ra, my brothers, please help me deepen my consciousness in this meditation. I thank you for your service brothers. I love you". They will always help, but then this means more entities watching you. As for the feeling of being watched, you always, and I mean always, have at least one entity with you, depending on your home density (if you are a wanderer). More probable is that you have four entities watching you are all times, but additionally you may have dozens. They are there when you wake, when you sleep, when you cook, do dishes, housework, masturbate, make love... always. They all love and cherish you dearly. Get over it. RE: Meditation tips? - JoshC - 08-27-2010 Lol Peregrinus ![]() Another couple practices you could try out: Stare at a candlelight in a dark room. Watch the flame flicker as it does and if/when you start to think about something, just bring your focus back onto the flame and continue to watch it. Simply watch. Focus on your breath as you breath in. Feel your diaphragm or chest expand, then feel the air flowing out of your lungs and your diaphragm or chest contract. Use a mantra, like that "omm" thing monks do. I'm not too familiar with this technique so you could google mantra meditation if it interests you. The way I prefer meditation is focusing on my breath and asking to do something during my meditation. For example when I'm sitting ready to meditate, I set an intention to, not necessarily meditate on something, because meditation is something like the absence of thought, but have the meditation reveal to me or focus on something specific that I'd like to work on. Just now I meditated for a couple seconds on what to say next in this post. <-- So I wrote that! Hope it helped, Josh! RE: Meditation tips? - LsavedSmeD - 08-27-2010 Meditation is to think of nothing at, or in other words, everything at once. Sleeping is unconsciously meditating, meditation is consciously sleeping. RE: Meditation tips? - Deekun - 08-27-2010 I have tried the mantras, AUM, and visualization...which by the way is weird... I can visualize just about anything vividly except when trying to meditate. When trying to meditate and imagine all the colors all the sudden I only get grays, whites and black so it makes it hard for me to have a base. The only color I seem to feel attuned to when meditating is yellow but not always. I will try what you all have suggested and try less to force it... seems the easier times I had tuning out was when I was in the middle of reading some of the Ra material but I don't know if that was part of meditating or just falling asleep while reading ![]() RE: Meditation tips? - turtledude23 - 08-27-2010 Theres many types of meditation, deep thinking is one, concentrating on one thing is another, and having a completely still/clear mind is the one you probably want and the most powerful one. If you can't reach the third one try aiming for the second one. Some things that work for me are: concentrating on my breathing, counting from 1 to 10 over and over without letting my mind stray, visualizing a white sphere of light in the middle of my head and concentrating on it. Meditation is a test of will power and mental discipline, maybe think of it like learning how to play a musical instrument: it takes alot of practice but the end result is beautiful and worth it. Hope that helps. |
