the future of mobile technology - cybernetic amber - 07-02-2019

for a while now i keep envisioning a device that is worn around the wrist containing incredibly small projectors which will allow the user to simply hold up wrist (a la spider-man) and use fingers (of either hand) to navigate websites and apps

in addition to tiny projectors , cameras that are worn like rings around the fingers are integrated to carry on the experience of snapshot/videoing everything as well as continuing the trend of constantly having something to upgrade and purchase cute accessories for. the ring or rings could also be responsible for housing the gyro sensors so that the display moves like the touchscreens we have now, but you don't touch, you just swipe the air

by placing the tech around the wrist rather than in the hand, we will stop hurting our necks. i read the other day that some scientist somewhere has proven humans are evolving neck humps from cell phone use xD

surely this has been portrayed in fiction?

it seems like we are so close to it, but to look at the consumer tech of today..... we are actually sooooo far.

bigger and bigger lithium ion batteries inside of bigger and bigger slippery fragile glass phones is the current trend. a trillions dollar industry of creating slightly different slippery fragile glass phones annually in order to create billions of plastic cases to protect those phones year after year after year....

didn't Ra say hyper advanced 3rd density people from far away who have interstellar travel capabilities can do so because they use hydrogen differently? idk what else could be used to create the power needed to fuel a smart holo wrist thing, but I sure don't feel like tethering it to a lithium ion battery pack in my pocket. ("vape ecigs" are exploding in people's faces more and more often, isn't that awful?)

to look at the current state of the "smartwatch" industry.... compare an apple watch to my vision of a smart holo wrist thing ... same form factor, same-ish idea... how many years in the future before my idea could exist? since iphone was first released 12? years ago, it's just been an evolution of that same concept. a decade before the smartwatch has finally begun to be a mainstream thing.

as time goes on more and more focus and r/d will be on the watches but I'd say we're at least 50 years away. see my image. i'm sorry i draw like a 2 year-old xD

what ideas do you have for the future of mobile?

Well if you really look at tech, there really hasn't been any real improvement for a very long time. Yes the cars look better and get better gas milage, and is so very comfy. However a car is still a car, a flat tv is still a tv, and so on.

In my opinion a type of created Darwinism or commercialism has been put into use. The tech/devices slowly improve, with the core function remaining practically the same.

Even touch technology didnt get hold, even for designers who work on detailed stuff. Touch monitors etc are totally out.

Touching, moving stuff using a touchpad is also unlikely to stick - it requires a lot of movement, becomes tiring.

The current setup for using a computer using a mouse and keyboard seems to be the one providing minimum movement of fingers and hands.

Imagine having to wiggle your hands as much as you move your mouse...

I imagine the motions could be exactly the same but without the resistance of the physical mouse object. But actually I imagine the motions to be much more subtle (slight finger wiggles here and there but to scroll and zoom without pointing at the screen at all) and also much more dramatic (using big swipes and across the projected "screen" like a touch screen). A little pinch motion could be programmed to control the size of the display, for movie viewingand sharing content to tiny for private messages and interactions.

From tons of programming I have developed what they call carpel tunnel and it can be agony , I hope keyboard and mouse is eradicated very soon. Touch input imo creates far less resistance because the smooth glass and swipe motions as opposed to clicks and clacks.

A car is still a car yes. I heard a podcast the other day where someone had suggested that tiny private helicopters is actually the future of personal travel. Wouldn't that be amazing? But still an evolution of the core idea of travel.

A flat tv is still a tv yes. I can now tell my tv with my voice to show me whatever I want. But still a tv. Smartphones are actually the evolution of the TV imo. A tiny wireless screen that shows you whatever you want with your voice. I suppose then even my wrist idea is just an evolution of the core idea....Screen.

What would be the next big thing then to break the cycle you see happening?

Choosing the right mouse and pad reduces the resistance to almost zero.

Havent you acquired ergonomic mouses, keyboards and optimized your environment?

It's not about a specific device, or type of technology. However rather than function, and profit being the driving force or focus of the why and what were creating, peoples health, happiness, and what we truly need being the focus. Gradually we would include all life forms, as we more and more discover that we are all connected.

So to me it's not directly what we have created but the limited ways we use it, for the cause of profit, and power over others. If we were to instate our current technology in a more benevolent and total form, many thorns would be extracted from humanity's experience.
