How to save YouTube videos - AnthroHeart - 10-05-2019

This is the best way I have found of saving YouTube videos.

  1. Download VLC, or another open-source media player

  2. Open VLC and click "Open Media" (Media -> Open Network Stream)

  3. Click "Network" and paste YouTube URL

  4. If using Mac, select "Window" and then "Media Information"

  5. If using Windows, select "Tools" and then "Codec Information"

  6. Find the "Location" bar at the bottom and copy that URL (click 3 times fast on it to select, then ctrl-c to copy)

  7. Paste that URL into your browser (ctrl-v)

  8. Right click the video and select "Save Video As"

  9. Name the file and save to desired location

Remember to go to the Tools->Codec Information in VLC and use THAT URL in the browser. VLC can't save videos directly.

Thank you IGW. I didn't think there was a way to do that anymore. Smile

Yeah, the browser plugins like YouTube Video DownloadHelper didn't work for me anymore.

These directions definitely worked. I just saved like 7 videos today using it.

I am using Windows.

There is a simple way. A software called "4K Video Downloader".

They have a premium version, so their standard version would have some limitations.

They say that their premium version doesn't have advertisements and allows unlimited downloads.

Have you found limitations with the free version?

The only limitation is about be possible download only 25 videos of playlists at the same time.
