Well since you guys are tossing statistics around, here are some interesting ones to chew on:

Quote:On this planet, a child dies of malnutrition every two seconds.

...the simplest and most important step each of us can take to end world hunger is to stop eating meat.

When just one person adopts a vegetarian diet, that action frees up land to feed as many as 19 other people. If just 10 percent of American meat-eaters adopted a vegetarian diet, there would be 12 million more tons of grain to feed to humans, enough to support the 60 million people who starve to death each year.

From http://www.downtoearth.org/health/general-health/steps-to-end-world-hunger ...facts are easily verifiable.

Wow, this is amazing. I definitley think more and more people are waking up, and looking at alternative health, and vegetarian/vegan/raw food diets every day.

Here in South Africa, there's a random ad that comes on during the news that encourages people to adopt a vegetarian diet.

I don't know who sponsors the ad, it's more like an info snippet. There seems to be an increased openess to change at the societal level. Hopefully, the children growing up in that societal environment will oneday, en masse, champion widespread change. The world is still run through the filter of "family clan".

But things will change... Smile Interesting times ahead
