Earth Hour - Ankh - 03-25-2011 Dear brothers and sisters, I would like to remind you that tomorrow on March 26th, between 20:30 and 21:30 local time, it is annual Earth Hour. A 60 minutes event to show a worldwide compassion for our Gaia by turning off the lights. We should honor and respect Gaia for as long as we're here, and I'm sure she deserves more than one hour of worship! RE: Earth Hour - 3DMonkey - 02-27-2012 She ought to worship me. I'm the Creator. Apologies. I totally thought I was at treehuggers. RE: Earth Hour - Ankh - 02-27-2012 (02-27-2012, 12:42 PM)godwide_void Wrote: Shouldn't every hour be Earth hour? Well if you can live without using any electricity for more than an hour, then hey! I am cheering for you. Otherwise, you can do stuff like Gaia meditations, or something that resonates with you. I believe that Gaia appreciates every effort offered to her in love and light. RE: Earth Hour - Oceania - 02-27-2012 what if you need to go to the bathroom? I remember, I once saw a homeless man in the street walking up to a tree and peeing against it. And while he did so, he said in a loud voice that his urine was nourishing the earth and tree. He was right of course. Still, it is forbidden to pee in public in the streets RE: Earth Hour - Oceania - 02-29-2012 i kinda meant i need to see to poop RE: Earth Hour - Ankh - 03-12-2012 Earth Hour: "Ever wondered why we do Earth Hour? You could hug your kittes for me, I'd really like that! RE: Earth Hour - Oceania - 03-12-2012 lol i will the tree is there lol, i hope it's still easy to climb. Earth Hour on Facebook RE: Earth Hour - Diana - 03-31-2012 I am finding the FB page really irritating. I have been trying to find out what 8:30 pm means--which time zone? Ankh, you say local time; is that Sweden time? RE: Earth Hour - Ankh - 03-31-2012 Ok, tonight is the night, folks! This is the biggest arena in Stockholm, seen from many areas of our city: My landlord and our local food store will also be participating. This is what Earth Hour wrote: "Another record! Earth Hour 2012 expected in 150 countries and territories and 6032 cities and towns. Where are you joining us from this year?" Personally I am going be home with my little daughter. We are going to light the candles and incense, and read bed time stories in the couch for a whole hour. In short, your local 08:30 PM time. =) RE: Earth Hour - Diana - 03-31-2012 Oh! Thank you Ankh. RE: Earth Hour - Ankh - 11-16-2012 Earth Hour 2013 Official Video: Earth Hour 2013, 8:30 PM, Saturday 23 March. RE: Earth Hour - Ruth - 11-16-2012 It's on my calendar! Thank you for keeping us informed. RE: Earth Hour - Ankh - 03-08-2013 15 days to go. Saturday March 23 at 8:30 PM your local time. RE: Earth Hour - Alex from Greece - 03-17-2013 As I see things on the world map... it is mostly East-side States taking this effort warmly. Here in Europe there doesn't seem to be that much awareness (to my knowledge!) Go U.S.A.! Do your bit as best you can in these strangely biblical times! Peace and Love RE: Earth Hour - Ankh - 03-23-2013 Today is the day! I am going to be home during this hour together with my daughter and her friend, who is going to sleep over tonight at our place. We are going to turn off all the lights and unplug all the electrical and technological devices (even my beloved iPhone/iRa is going to be blessed with some "sleep" during this hour :p). We are going to have snacks and goodies and read/tell stories as long as possible, even if it will be longer than an hour. I'm also thinking to do a little Gaia meditation with the girls at the beginning and end of this hour, like saying a little, short prayer perhaps? I'll think about it... It is a perfect opportunity to share the love of the Creator with children though... 11 hours to go! RE: Earth Hour - Ankh - 03-23-2014 And here we go again: RE: Earth Hour - Ankh - 03-26-2014 This year I am going to begin and end this event with a prayer to the Creator and our Gaia. My daughter will be having a friend over, who will probably stay with us over the night. It's going to be so fun! RE: Earth Hour - Ankh - 03-27-2014 I thought this was beautiful: Because it's not about what country you're from, it's about what PLANET you're from. http://www.earthhour.org/ RE: Earth Hour - Ankh - 03-29-2014 Today is the day! From 08:30 to 09:30 PM your local time. http://www.earthhour.org/celebrating-earth-hour It's a fantastic spring day here in Stockholm. We are going to barbeque first with our best friends in their beatiful, sunny garden, and in the evening I am going to take the kids over to my place. We are first going to prepare all the snacks and goodies to eat, light the candles and incense, and then switch off all the lights. Then I am going to say a prayer for Gaia, and we will meditate as long as kids will be able (they're seven). And then we are going to tell or read stories, for as long as it is fun for them, but of course at least one hour. And I will finish this with a prayer too. |
