MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - Eddie - 06-26-2011 I'm wondering if this is indeed a mirage, or something else....another reality bleeding over into ours? City appears in the mist RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - Monica - 06-26-2011 I don't think this is real. Look at the people walking, and the person on the bike, on the bridge. If a city suddenly appeared in the mist, they'd all be gawking. But they're not. They're just going about their day. Other photos of this phenomenon have turned up on other web sites. RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - Bring4th_Austin - 06-26-2011 It's very easy to skew news reports and interviews which are in other languages, and fake news reports can spread fast online. I have to agree with Monica, based on that video I would say it was fake. People wouldn't be walking calmly by; they would be sitting there with their jaws on the ground going nuts over what they were seeing. RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - 3DMonkey - 06-26-2011 I don't get it. What's it supposed to look like? A before and after would be convenient for me. RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - Oceania - 06-26-2011 you can't expect people to react like you would react. many people in today's world don't react to much. then again i dunno how to explain that. what would cause it? Sure you can. Any normal human, walking down the street, the same street they see every day on the way to work, and suddenly the skyline is different? Yeah, the reaction is predictable. Surprise, shock, disbelief, excited chatter...that's just basic human reaction. I can't imagine anyone walking down a familiar street and seeing an entire city where there wasn't one before just mozying along, going "oh...yeah...magical city appearing out of nowhere...*yaaawwn*." This would draw crowds. It's just fog over some flood waters. The end. RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - 3DMonkey - 06-26-2011 LOL!!! I've never imagined a "fairyland" to look like a smoggy city. RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - native - 06-26-2011 If you read the comments, people seem to translate the report as saying that because of the fog, it looks like the city is floating...and nothing to do with the city suddenly appearing. RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - Oceania - 06-26-2011 umm, the bridge indicates the city is floating in a river. anyway i think people are so cynical today they'd just walk past. especially might be true in a different culture. RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - Bring4th_Austin - 06-26-2011 Or so cynical they're not phased by a magical city appearing from nothing! I know no one that cynical, hailing from any culture. RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - BrownEye - 06-26-2011 It would suck to run your boat into a "mirage" tree ![]() RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - Oceania - 06-26-2011 well if i saw a city in a river i'd think there's a logical explanation. RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - Monica - 06-27-2011 (06-26-2011, 10:29 PM)Oceania Wrote: i think people are so cynical today they'd just walk past. Well just look at the news coverage of any major event, and see how the people react. Like when the planes hit the towers on 911 for example. The people didn't just keep walking. They freaked out. Or for a less violent example, check out the footage of UFO sightings. People are saying "OH MY GOD" and "HOLY CRAP!" and all sorts of profanity and stuff like that. RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - Oceania - 06-27-2011 that's different, immediate threat is noticed. a placid city not. i watched the planes hit the towers on TV and felt nothing, it didn't even register right away what had happened. also, when i called my mom about it she didn't get it right away either, cuz she was distracted and i was like but mom listen! and she was like yeah ok i gotta go, and then she only later like "got it". as for UFO sightings yeah people can say wow what is that but then they remember they gotta go to the dentist or their favorite show is on or something else in Real Life they gotta do and they go on their merry way. or maybe i'm just so dulled down but that's how i'd prolly react. :/ RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - 3DMonkey - 06-27-2011 (06-27-2011, 11:03 AM)Oceania Wrote: that's different, immediate threat is noticed. a placid city not. i watched the planes hit the towers on TV and felt nothing, it didn't even register right away what had happened. also, when i called my mom about it she didn't get it right away either, cuz she was distracted and i was like but mom listen! and she was like yeah ok i gotta go, and then she only later like "got it". as for UFO sightings yeah people can say wow what is that but then they remember they gotta go to the dentist or their favorite show is on or something else in Real Life they gotta do and they go on their merry way. or maybe i'm just so dulled down but that's how i'd prolly react. :/ When the earthquake in Japan occurred, I recall a man very sincerely saying he was uninterested in tuning in and decided that he had seen worse events in movies that appeared equally as real. But if there is a skyscraper appearing in my neighborhood... ...This is all fake anyway RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - Crown - 06-27-2011 The fog is making the city appear as if it is a mirrage or its floating in above the clouds. Thats all. RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - Monica - 06-27-2011 (06-27-2011, 11:03 AM)Oceania Wrote: that's different, immediate threat is noticed. a placid city not. Gosh, if you think people won't even bother to look when an entire city suddenly pops up on the horizon, then, well, I don't have anything to add. I could get into the psychology of it but it's not really worth spending time on (in my opinion), as there are more important topics I'd rather discuss. So I'll just agree to disagree here. I really am curious about this...what sort of logical explanation is apparent enough to warrant such a lack of interest in a city skyline which isn't supposed to be there floating on a river? I'm not trying to debate, I really want to know. You would really shrug off a city suddenly appearing where it isn't supposed to be? RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - Aaron - 06-27-2011 Oceania Wrote:why does it have to be self-involvement? can't o find it uninteresting and be focusing on something else? Aha! I've solved your riddle... You find it uninteresting because you're focusing on manifesting it yourself! ![]() RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - 3DMonkey - 06-27-2011 Just ideas. How about reverting to orange without care for societal stimulation? One thing I frequently forget is that people don't see half of what we discuss here. It's trippy. RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - Oceania - 06-27-2011 i'm still confused about how one can be orange...and yet interested in other people. RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - 3DMonkey - 06-27-2011 Can they? More Photos RE: MIRAGE - Buildings and mountains appear in China - kanonathena - 06-29-2011 The news said the mirage has happened quite a few times in the area lately (although not to such an extent), guess that's why people are not particularly interested. |
