Mental Health: Insights - reeay - 09-02-2013

Some talks about mental health issues. In this society where we tend to be pessimistic and take that 'usual' approach to understanding and treating mental illness, the fresh perspective these folks provide is pretty re-freshing!

RE: Mental Health: Insights - AnthroHeart - 09-02-2013

I had a mini stroke from a gymnastics accident. Up till about a year ago it caused some discomfort in the back of my neck. Obviously I didn't die from it, but it did make me vomit a few times. Needless to say I stay off of trampolines now. I don't know any good that came out of it thought. I was on Warfarin for awhile which thinned my blood and prevented it from clotting. That's the same stuff they put into rat poison. I stopped on my own after a few months, and only rarely will I experience pain from that area. It was on my left side of the brain, and my right side of my body went numb. I'm glad it was left side instead of right side, because the right side is the creative side, while the left side is logical/mathematical. And I'd rather have my creative side in tact. I suffered no long-term effects.

I wish I could thank the voices in my head, but they made it seem like attacking my dog was a good thing to do. They played God with me. Telling me I shouldn't hesitate to hurt him.
