The Lost Backpack Dream - Plenum - 05-03-2014

has anyone else had this dream?

where you sort of forget your backpack when you get off the bus, or you put your backpack down somewhere, and when you go to look for it again, it's missing (becuz someone took it etc). For women, it might take the form of a lost purse or something.

I used to have this dream a lot when I was younger, especially when I was in early high school, and because I didn't understand it's meaning (I just woke up all anxious and totally freaked out), I didn't use the dream fully, even though it was trying to tell me something.

I had it a few more times in my 20's, and in recent years, it has barely presented itself.

I looked up the meaning a few years ago, because I was curious about it, and it basically means that the 'lost backpack' is due to the person not paying close enough attention to something that they value, and through neglect, some opportunity or relationship is lost. When I was younger, it was probably me not paying enough attention to the 'spirit', and becoming more entrapped and engrossed in the nature of the Illusion, to the detriment of my mission and potential service.

I just had this dream just now, and I really had to self-inquire as to why, and what I was neglecting.

I sort of looked back on the last couple of weeks, and the sort of cues I had been receiving, and which ones I had followed up on, and which ones I hadn't.

Eventually, that dream of the Higher Self/Hostess (that I posted about weeks ago) presented itself strongly, and I knew that that was the area I had not been working enough on. I had even mentioned it to Matt1 in chat a few hours earlier Smile

in recent weeks I've been caught up in working on indigo ray, and also popping down to yellow ray to clear up issues when they presented itself. Higher Self/magical personality work is also an integral part of indigo (along with the study of the archetypes), and that was the 'thing of value' that had been neglected.

so yes, a bit of feedback from myself to the self. Pay attention young man!!

goddamn, dreams keep you honest Tongue

My dream is I'm usually lost and don't know how to get where I'm going. Or I'm in school and don't even know my next class, let alone the room.

Plenum, my dreams are more "troubling" and I have them many times even nowadays.

Not only I can't find my bag, I can't get back to the place where I left it.

I have many dreams with this theme: I am at a meeting. Meeting is over and I leave the office. When I walk out of the building, I realise I left my bag in the office. I walk back to the building and take the lift (elevator) to the floor where the office is located. I can't get to that floor because lift is not working, floor is closed for renovation, or floor does not exist, or I can't find that office after walking round the entire floor.

Another variation: I am at an airport/seaport and I have already checked in my luggage. Because there is still time before departure, I have a cup of coffee at a nearby cafe or I take a walk outside the terminal. When its time to leave, I walk back towards the departure gate. And I can't find it.

I tried analyzing these dreams and even meditated on them but don't seem to find the answer. Perhaps, you or others in the forum have an interpretation for my dreams.

Hm.

I 'got rid of' this type of dream when I came to the conclusion that whatever was in the backpack it was unimportant. Just things. And things get lost. Being upset over the lost backpack was pointless and I didn't look for it in my dreams and presto, no more lost backpack-dreams.

It could be that the 'backpack' means different things to different people.

I haven't had the lost backpack dream in a while, I do get the 'dirty laundry' dream sometimes, where I'm lugging around a hamper full of dirty laundry. Gee, what does that symbolize I wonder Tongue

How's that for ordinary dreams, rather than special ones.

hiya Wai,

yeah, that would seem to suggest that not only have you forgotten something of value, but that you also don't know how to get it back (the missing floor, or the non-working lift).

if the dream part is concentrating more on the latter half (desperately trying to recover what was lost) rather than just focusing on the 'loss' aspect, then that's where the emotional impact is.

In that case, the issue then becomes a matter of 'technique'; or the means by which you recover what you lost. It sounds a bit weird to concentrate on trying to recover something you don't know what it is (other than being a bag or a briefcase), but if the major portion of the dream is there, then that is it's focal message, I think.

the dream is saying something about the technique; and that you don't know what the technique is. (or that you're using the wrong approach, etc).

that's a valid way of interpreting this dream too Chicken Smile

Thanks Plenum for the suggestion.

The second part of the dream is definitely longer, like 80%-90% of the dream - where I become more and more frantic when I can't find the office to retrieve the bag.

I will reflect more on what you suggested and see if I can make sense of the dream.
