In a manner of speaking, you do. I think what he was trying to communicate was that there is no space, and there is no time. And in the absence of space, the meetings are a mental one, which, if you wanted, could be translated in a "physical way", which is what you see in most NDE accounts.

Really, if you want my opinion, it is the difference between being on a higher plane, and a lower plane. The lower the plane, the more the after death experience is going to resemble your physical one (these would be astral after death scenarios). The higher the plane, the more "intangible" the experience becomes, such as what this gentleman experienced, which appears to be more of a mental plane after death scenario.
