A lot your story resembles my own. I am very sensative to others people's thoughts/emotions, and it took me awhile to realize that's what was going on. However in truth there is no other, and all these thoughts and emotions are truly ours/mine. But the point is that I wasnt technically, specifically generating from this foci/focal point.

These incoming emotions/thoughts can be transmuted, as it/they our directly connected to this other person, so you can assist them in the endeavor. However they may resist and this communicates there choice and I respect that choice and leave them to it. At this point I refocus my thoughts/emotions, and move on, so to speak.

Humility was a huge motif of my early life lessons. I have had quiet a few moments where instant humiliation was executed.
