I don't have many dreams with shadow in them, and those that do I don't have free will so I can't work on that.
How does one acknowledge the shadow and become aware of it, without trying to force it?
Hello Tom, nice to see you. Always appreciated your open and gentle spirit on this forum.
Shadows are synonymous with fear. Fear is the literal pointer that helps us identify aspects of our personality that need work, and so a simple question is all that's needed: What do I fear?
Once you identify something (X), the next step is as simple: Why do I fear X?
Since fear is nothing but a belief in a negative outcome, herein lies the opportunity for honest self introspection: Why do believe I am incapable of coping with X?
The further you drill down into why, you'll find it's based off a belief that was installed by A) past experience, B) peers/family/culture or C) a generic fear of failure / self doubt.
A and B are easily addressed. Experience is from the past, when you were a different person with different capabilities. That's how we learn, that's the absolute basis of third density. People often view past experiences negatively, but it's actually a beautiful gift - the foundation of teach/learning. Experience is the reason we instantiate space/time. B is even easier to address, as once you realise you've simply taken on baggage from external sources you can treat them that way - external. They have no hold over you, except the power you give them by holding on. This is the basis of 'letting go'.
C is a bit deeper and requires more insight into the self. Why? Why? Why? Drill down and keep asking yourself why you feel this way. After some time (or perhaps instantly), you'll find that C is a product of A or B. Which are both easily fixed :¬)
It's about knowing yourself. As that gives you the power to break free from yourself.
If you hold no fears, then you're a rare individual!
Shadow work is also your most dark self or your "other self". The subconscious mind as well.
The fear, the acting from the fear or literally a reaction, the default setting. It's the knee jerk reaction of anger, selfishness, rejection, separation, hate, denial and so forth. The consciousness is the balancer of all these things. One is likened to a dream state (created by the veil, to not know it, the subconscious mind) and the other is the reality, to be consciously aware of these things and begin to work with them in bringing them into balance. That's my understanding. And I loved your understanding as well Namaste.
