I really like the thought experiments in this thread.
My next remark will not make them easier: the Big Bang and the expanding universe are not to be taken for facts yet. Both are the result of one interpretation of measurements, where several others exist. And both are mathematical constructs. In the realm of mathematics anything is possible as long as an equation can be constructed. The real world (s/t+t/s) is where mathematical results should be verified to validate them.
Big Bang theory has over the years become Big Bang Dogma.
