These are some drawings I've done over the years using Prismacolor pencils on black paper. Growing up I'd always draw using traditional graphite on white paper so doing one of these for the first time blew my mind when I saw how the black background really makes the image and colors pop out and bring the whole thing to life. (Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures)

These are amazing Quasimofo! I am expressing my inner artist lately and really enjoying it. You have such natural talent. That apple looks like I could pick it up and eat it, that is amazing to do with colored pencils.

Thanks! It was a lot of fun doing these, too. It wasn't until a high school art class that I started doing light on black with colored pencils, but the thing that really got me into them was how much depth was given to the drawing from the background alone. Compared to traditional black on white drawings, these seemed to bring the drawings to life more and really make them pop out at you.

It makes total sense to me.

I started working on this a few months ago but have yet to finish it. I was trying to do something with micro pens but I think I bit off more than I could chew, as I was attempting to dot the entire thing, which looks really cool when it's finished, but it's extremely time consuming. This is basically where I paused/stopped with the drawing, the second image alone took me about 12 hours (total) to do so far.

You have patience! That looks very cool, organic, almost like a pupil and iris
