I thought it was interesting to learn about these and see some images of monolithic Egyptian statues depicting royals holding them.

I've been interested in copper lately because of the properties of copper to conduct electricity and also to destroy viruses.

The rods are said to be made of zinc and copper, and because zinc has many health benefits and people kept commenting that zinc supplements fought covid I returned to reading about it and what is said is that absorbing/ingesting too much zinc depletes copper. I wonder if the Egyptians somehow knew this but knew they were both beneficial yet depleted each other so both were needed to balance the amount in a person system. Other videos I've watched describe one rod as being directed towards the north pole and one to the south to balance you. Metals will absorb through your skin if held for extended time. It's just like why you don't hold pyrite/galena/lead/mercury

It's all very interesting. You can buy a copper rod like that for under 10$ at a home improvement store in the plumbing section. I wonder if the same could be done with zinc. They're said to be filled with powdered quartz or other other crystals which I have read have piezoelectric properties. Some of the rods are said to be copper and gold along with a zinc and silver alloy instead of straight copper or zinc.

This thread covers the electrical and virus-destroying properties of coppers and azurites

    Look up Royal Cubit.

When cut to this length, or a fraction thereof, it has special powers.

Would you mind showing an illustration of this?  I think you might be confusing these rods with something else.

In the images on the papyrus, the person holds the Ankh, so the wand may just be part of it.
Nevertheless, everything that you can believe will work, logical reasoning is a support for faith.

Well in my opinion it isn't superstition this is why copper is used in electrical wiring. It's like sitting on a couch on a warm day covered in sheets will focus your electricity. Silver is the best conductor, gold is also used but has prohibitive costs. I want to learn more about zinc.

Quartz [silicon dioxide] is used in computer processors because they conduct electricity

Aha.  Those rods typically weren't "copper and zinc", they were rods machined from silicate rock (for the right hand), and carbonate rock (for the left hand).  So, for the right hand:  quartz, quartzite, novaculite, etc; and for the left hand, limestone, dolomite, calcite, marble, and so on.

Those statues illustrate various postures that are part of an ancient Egyptian equivalent of Qi Gong practice.  I do this every day, using a quartz crystal in my right hand, and a calcite crystal in my left hand (for those postures using closed hands; most postures use open hands).  The best times are sunrise, noon, and sunset.  I demonstrated a routine to several attendees at the last Homecoming.

This practice is remarkably beneficial to the energy body, facilitating healing and well-being, and I cannot recommend it too highly.  If you are interested in pursuing this art, I suggest reading the book The Egyptian Postures of Power, by Jason Quitt.  It's made a great positive difference in my life. Cool

Maybe they were a variety of materials because what I was reading said Russian researchers decades ago discovered the copper zing cylinders in pharaoh tombs.

That's the other name for these cylinders of the pharaoh/wands of horus
I haven't read much about them and oftentimes it's difficult to tell which is the most reliable source of info and who just made something up to sell a product.
