I woke up this morning to find that it is snowing. First snow fall of the year over here. It makes me want to hibernate. Winter is sooo long here.
Anyone else have a snowfall yet? How does it affect you?

We've had a couple of light dustings, but nothing significant.

I love snow, especially fairly deep snow. The Kentucky Bluegrass region looks like a fairy-tale wonderland after 6 or 8 inches of snow. It's really beautiful here then.

Soon I'll be taking care of a friends Burnese Mountain dog, as I do every winter. Her name is Layla and she keeps me from hibernating. That dog just LOVES snow. She bounces around and makes snow angels ( they don't really look like angels when she's done, but you get the gist). She's a big silly dog and she keeps me out there in the cold. She seems unaffected even by our coldest deep freeze days. Winter is her time.

We had some here in PA on thanksgiving morning. Not a lot but enough to coat everything in white for a few hours.

For me, snow has always been exciting. Sure, it can tend to make driving a bit difficult, but overall it has always brought out the child in me. You know, the one that looks out the window as it snows and eagerly jumps around because i want to go play in itSmile

From a spiritual perspective, it represents purity to me as everything is blanketed in bright, clean whiteness.

Im looking forward to a snowy winter up here!

A little bit of snow fell here- less than an inch. At the time it was mostly annoying because my car doors were frozen shut, but fresh snow is always beautiful. I wish the days didn't get so short in winter, though. I enjoy it most when there are about equal parts light and dark during the day.

I found out that when the first snow fall arrives I often have trouble sleeping... does anyone else have the same problem?
I think it looks so beautiful, everything in white but when I have to go out... shiver....

This is the earliest snow fall in 100 years in my country!

I always had problems during the winter and specially when snow came. Then I discovered that it had a lot to do with my childhood where winters were spent witnessing the worst aspects of human kind and summers were spent in love. After I realised that I tried to enjoy winter, darkness and snow. After a day or two, really trying, I had this experience, divine one.

I looked up in the dark sky and snow was sparkling everywhere, and I saw that odd shaped cloud in the sky and thought of our brothers and sisters out there, and suddenly a warm feeling came over me of not beeing alone. That all of those stars and planets are not cold and the space is not dark but full of life and activity, and light, different light. The main perception was that I have been looking at the same stars but in different life form, when I was home with my brothers and sisters, and I do know these stars and that space out there is my home.

It is not possible to describe that feeling completly, but it was like coming home... It happened two days ago, I can't get it back, but I don't need to. Offcourse I try to evoke it every time I am outside but it's not possible. But it confirmed what's been inside me, it confirmed my essence. Now I just love winter and snow. I don't even freeze as much as I did earlier. Offcourse it's been only 2 days ago, but I hope to always remember that.
