I really believe in blockchain and cryptocurrencies and think it will fundamentally change every facet of our lives for the better.

Check out Cardano.  They are doing some pretty amazing things and their founder is inspiring.

His talk here convinced me to invest in ADA and get behind Cardano - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1fNLSjAgHg

The issue is that much of the technocratic elite are strongly in support of bitcoin and crypto currency. Here's some information I put together a little while ago on that subject.

basically its a look at some of the biggest players in the space, but focusing on Digital Currency Group, probably the largest company/fund operating in the crypto space.

Love this discussion and love the nuanced points everyone has been making. This technology is certainly not black and white. I used to be more romantic about the potential for blockchain/bitcoin to free us from the current monetary system domminated by the central banks and their "debt monetization" (money printing), but now I am a bit more cautious.

I am cautious mainly because the entire basis of digital technology is based on the hyper polarization/abstraction of energy into 0s and 1s. This abstraction allows extreme control to the technologically adept/educated elite. Certainly it can be used to benefit others, but the fundamental pattern still rests on the domination of nature.

One interesting usecase for smart contract platforms revolves around creating governance systems for various organizations. I use to work for MakerDAO an Ethereum based organization used for decentralized leverage, meaning that you can lock ETH (or other crypto) and take out debt against that ETH without any counterparty (besides the Ethereum blockchain). I was involved mainly in designing some of the governance processes.

Seems like there's knowledgeable people here on the blockchain subject. If anyone is working on trying to organize something to aid organizations seeking I would be interested in discussing. I know the crypto space quite well at this point and would love to talk potentials

I am surprised by everything he manages to accomplish. It's the sort of thing that the Elites would not want done so fast. Space is interesting but it is not where his efforts are best focused for humanity.

Mostly he single handedly initiated the electrification of transport in a way that the Elites could not easily stop. And now all manufacturers are following in order to survive. I would say he cut decades out of the normal timing for this to happen.

In about 5 years, these cars will be at price parity with gasoline cars and another couple years before the used car market also has electric cars at price parity. When this happens, gasoline will truly be on its way out. Because if people can buy a used 5000$ electric car with 600km of range there will be very little reason to buy gasoline cars. I could not wait that long so I bought a Model 3 even though it is overpriced for me. Smile

Why does Elon still use traditional rockets when he could use the antigravity UFO tech they have?
UFOs have already been disclosed by the CIA.

I would say he does not know how. The STS elites are having fun watching us play around with chemical rockets. Still, the guy is making a valiant effort building a proper spaceship out of our little toy rocket techs.

What’s interesting with Elon is that he’s has been building rockets that actually can come back, land back without exploding, and parts can be re-utilized.. Wink

How’s that for recycling, instead of littering our own cosmos’ skies..

Second at the moment.  But yeah, very rich.  He just doesn't care about it though.  It's very useful to him for accomplishing his goals for humanity.

Quote:...Elon Musk is getting seriously into minimalism in 2021, starting with getting rid of a whole lot of California real estate.

In May, the tech CEO announced on Twitter, "I am selling almost all physical possessions. Will own no house." And now, eight months later, Musk is making good on that promise, completing the sale of his last three homes all located in a Bel-Air cul-de-sac...

Richest? Heh, not even close. It's not the usual names and faces.

Part of it is black magic and part of it is "the spirit" of enlightenment.

The only difference with China's currency manipulation and US' currency manipulation is that US lies about not doing it.

Pressuring its own banks and central banks of its satellites to change exchange rates against a particular currency accomplishes the same kind of currency manipulation. Thats how they sunk Japanese exports in 1990s. They are trying it against China as well.

Yeah. Bill Gates, the man who got rich on top of a capitalist company, is a Marxist. Additionally seems to be an environmentalist for some reason, despite not having done anything in that direction, therefore 'green'.

Dont use words whose meanings you dont know. Less insult people. Here's a Marxist for you:

    http://monthlyreview.org/2009/05/01/why-socialism/

Look at the name of the author.

Then stop spreading hate against people like that for fault of the bullsh*t you read from bison-hat wearing half naked kooks who propagate falsities.

    ...

The problem with cryptocurrency is that nothing backs it. 'Backed by X' doesnt mean anything. Is there anyone or anything which ensures that backing? Is there anyone who enforces it? Is there anyone who actually going to exchange it for something else if no one refuses it?

Those are the questions that matter. Fiat currency has meaning because it is tied to existence of a country. And the country has the power to back that currency. A country's currency would be exchanged by the government itself even if everyone else refuses to exchange it for anything. Therefore it works. Otherwise it also would be meaningless.

Gold is the same. Try exchanging gold for a product in your local market tomorrow. Nobody will. Maybe one person out of 100. Its because gold is not accepted as an exchange medium today. Fiat currency is.

If an actual national government says they will back a certain cryptocurrency, then you have an actual exchange medium at hand.

An alternative would be for any cryptocurrency to do something that is actually of value. A function of sort, some calculation or something that you could actually use. Then it would have inherent value as opposed to attributed value, and it would be easier to do something with it.

But as of this moment no such implementation of crypto has been done yet. All that is out there is crypto 'backed' with stuff.

Nice man, makerDAO is one of the top crypto projects IMO. They are the DeFi pioneers. Why don’t they use Chainlink oracles though? Seems like it would be more reliable than an in-house solution.

Blockchain has the potential to decentralize Internet and revolutionize a lot of things. DAOs come to mind:
