I have to thank you for posting that link. I had no idea that Steiner had a preserved series of lectures that has been preserved and available for free.

References in LOO do not refer to Aztecs. Neither Inca.

They refer to a time earlier than these, when a Confederation group contacted South Americans and apparently transferred them various technologies and understandings. South American legends talk of Kukulkan, the feathered snake, who taught them farming, sewing and various other stuff, but especially 'getting along with other people'.

South American group left after having seen that their teachings were learned and applied properly, unlike Ra's Egyptian effort.

However...

After they left, the teachings were distorted and temples of learning were turned to temples of slaughter and sacrifice.

The 'wonderful Aztec spirituality' which you speak of is a part of that - Aztecs kept people from the tribes they conquered as livestock to eat them during famines, and they regularly sacrificed them for their rituals.

Additionally Aztec culture was a aggressive and conquering culture, which required Aztecs to regularly raid neighboring cultures to 'toughen up' and train their young warriors. The culture itself was based on a hierarchical pyramid of such warrior nobility anyways.

As you can understand, when Spanish arrived, the neighboring cultures were all too happy to ally with them against Aztecs. In fact, the idea of alliance came from another kingdom which Aztecs were regularly attacking - whose king's daughter Cortez married, whose son happens to be the first recorded mestizo in South America.

When 'Spanish' took Tenochitlan, it was 200-300 Spanish and ~100,000 of their Native American allies. Who were not at all positively disposed after having been brutally slaughtered, sacrificed and eaten for the last few hundred years, as you could easily understand.

The references to the South American culture which you see in Ra material should be understood as references to a culture past in time, long ago.

Culture has little to nothing to do with spiritual awareness, in fact the most primitive and barbaric groups of the human family are the closest to Spirit.

The Nazi's were occultists, so spiritual awareness has also nothing to do with STO morality.

Does that make you uncomfortable to accept?

Anyway do please at least try to stay on topic.

It seems to me that the topic not easy to hold to because what's known of Aztec spirituality is scant. Is that correct? There are a couple of codices and some Spanish accounts and a few more scraps of information, but not much information over all. So, what is there to compare to the LOO?
