After noticing it pop into the consciousness here this past month with lots of fanfare, I decided to sit down and watch the first (and hopefully not last!) 12 episodes of One Punch Man.

One Punch Man is an anime for people who love anime, and even for people who don't. It's a satire on the "hero" genre of anime - Saitama (One Punch Man) is a hero in a world full of heroes - though his power may be the strongest of them all - he can take out anything with a single punch. This amount of power, if you can imagine, causes ennui in the heart of our protagonist.

One Punch Man is funny, heartwarming, and gripping all at once, while keeping its tongue in its cheek. I recommend it to anyone who likes anime at all.

In one punch, but I read manga version so can't be sure within the context of this thread.

I'm not sure because I haven't delved into the manga yet, but from what I've seen the show is pretty faithful to the manga, and I do believe that yes, he could definitely defeat Superman in one punch.

Glad you enjoyed it! I hope the second season gets greenlighted soon! If not, the manga has been going for years.

I can imagine it's a no-brainer.  Such a popular series.  I actually looked up some pages from the manga.  The show is very faithful in terms of style and look.

Just the title reminds me of Maris the Supergal. She'd have to wear restraints or her strength would destroy whatever she touched. She flew a spaceship and ended up destroying it because she was so strong. She had an arch rival who was also strong.

Madhouse studio makes some of the best visually thrilling animations, they're my favorite after studio Ghibli. Some other projects I recommend by them is Paprika (2006), The Girl who Leapt Through Time (2006), and Summer Wars (2009).

Looking forward to binge watching second season of one punch when it airs.
