I'm not sure how familiar you guys are with the concept of a 'blockchain'; but it's basically a chain of information that gets written to, and that gets validated as self-consistent.
anyway, I had the idea of a very rough analogy (using aspects of this concept) that the Soul could possibly be likened to a blockchain. Obviously, not to the degree where anyone could write to the blockchain; only the offshoots and personalities of that particular Soul would 'write' to that blockchain. But much like a blockchain, previous entries to the medium could not be 'erased'; but only balanced further down the line. So it gives the Soul a unique history and trajectory, as a passage through time.
This 'blockchain' would also come into beingness during 2d; as an aspect of 'individuation'. It would happen at the point where that 2d entity had been 'invested' with enough individuality, that it's experience/consciousness would not return to the animal-group-soul upon death, and start taking on it's own separate line of Experience.
This 'individuated self', ie blockchain, would continue across death and various physical vehicles; the entries on this blockchain aren't dependent on the physical mind or body; it has it's own independent existence.
It would be commensurate with the 'Soul' aspect.
If some aspect of the blockchain was imbalanced (because of particular entries that had occured in a former existence), then a balancing incarnation could be explored, with the goal of balancing that particular blockchain entry.

But basically, the 'Soul' is neither the physical complex (which is perishable, and can change depending on the densities), nor is it the mind complex (which is heavily dependent upon the physical vehicle chosen, and the level of 'development' of that mind complex), nor would it be the spirit complex, which is more a vector or channel into infinite intelligence, and which isn't a 'thing' in itself; the spirit complex is more a facility utilized by the mind complex).
This 'Soul' is the thing which has continuity and gains experience; because with each life, and waking moment, entries are being appended to the blockchain; meaningful understandings and experiences. And when the blockchain has experienced the full scope of the densities, and has been able to self-balance all previous entries ... well, then it has attained individuated self-completion.
