Hello, other selves! 
I've found that an extremely efficient way to move to a higher state of consciousness is to act as if you were your higher self.
In fact, I think doing anything at all that moves you towards a greater balance is something that the higher self would do, or is a property of the higher self. You could say that making the connection to, or channeling your higher self, is the quickest way to a balanced inner situation.
For example, one of Kryon's teachings is that a master of human life has compassion upon him or herself. This compassion then allows love to flow outwards from the self into all parts of life. Look back on yourself the last time you went through a period of struggling or hardship. Do you have compassion now for yourself at that time? That's emulating the higher self. One thing I find myself doing more often now is sending light/love back to my past self. I think it's a part of becoming quantum. You start receiving love because you're sending love because you're receiving love because you're sending love...
Ra's three exercises are: Seeing the Creator within other selves. Seeing the Creator in your own self. Seeing the Creator within the creation.
I think all three of those things are a staple of the higher self. The more and more one can do these things consciously in every day life, the more like the higher self you become, the more compassionate you become, the more connected you become, the more loving you become.
So the question I ask myself frequently is, wwhsd? What would the higher self do? And it's difficult sometimes to live the answer because I tend to personify the higher self. I tend to make her into a character. When that happens, the answer is more filled with distortion because it doesn't account for the fact that the higher self is in the process of becoming all things, becoming the totality.
However, personifying my higher self has been a tremendous aid to me. It has allowed me to connect to her more on the human level that I find myself at now.
Does anyone else receive visualizations of angelic beings or the higher self? I don't even know if she's a projection of my higher self. She could be a guide. But I often receive images of a slender, white young woman dressed in long robes of white, red, and gold. She glows with golden light, and when she smiles, it's amazingly radiant, and filled with the purest love you can imagine. She often is sitting in a forest, gracefully perched on some rock in the sunlight or walking through the trees. She could also be a member of some "real" race somewhere, since there may be one instance of her or her kind in the group mind. When I first saw the Burning Crusade cinematic for World of Warcraft, I was shocked by the scene where you see the blood elf female zap the mana wyrm.

At first I thought, "That's her! Someone else has seen her too!" But on farther inspection, it's not the original thoughtform. It's stylized to fit into the WoW universe and characterized as so. (which is why she's so mean to that wyrm)
Plus, I'll sometimes see my friends (wanderers) in an angelic or ascended state. They will be vibrant, glowing, healthy. Sometimes their eyes glow with purple or white light. They will sometimes make their presence known to me during meditation or times of inner strife. I think that at least one of my wanderer friends who isn't awakened yet and doesn't know she's a wanderer, is actually one of my discarnate spiritual guides at the same time. She may be the angelic elf being described above.
Does anyone else visualize their higher self? Do you personify it? Do you receive visualizations or visits from the ascended part of your friends or other human beings? Do you receive visions from home? (I could go on about that, but that would be kind of long... Just ask if you wanna hear!)
