fibroids is a very common condition among our dear sisters. i know several who have had this condition. it seems to be non malignant tumors that adhere to the walls of the uterus.
in going thru my books on natural health i see two things that are recommended black cohosh and maitake mushroon. black cohosh seems t
inhibit tumor growth and maitake mushroom strengthens the immune
    system.
i would definitely recommend contacting a herbalist before taking either
one . i am not a doctor and i am not giving medical advice i am just
repeating what i see in these books.
the primary books i use are

healing without medication by robert rister
prescription for nutritional healing by james and phyllis balch
healing with whole foods by paul pitchford

norral, I've seen the second book you mentioned. The other two are new discoveries for me. Do you know of a good free website with these kinds of cross-references?

What I had in mind was more a tutorial, or a reference by keywords or topics, so that there was an easy point & click way to navigate and "drill down" or cross reference between symptoms and nutritional/herbal treatments.

Here are some examples of what I mean, in other fields:
    http://www.colormatters.com/colortheory.html - how colors work
http://codex.wordpress.org/Database_Description - where the Wordpress database stores information
http://wengu.tartarie.com/wg/zhendic.php?q=%A7%A2 - meaning of Chinese ideograms from the I Ching
http://thesaurus.com/browse/groovy - words with similar meanings
http://streeteasy.com/nyc/building/15-ce...t-new_york - real estate listings at a particular location

Some kind of online map between "where does it hurt" and "what you can try," for nutritional healing.

i am not familiar with anything like that. what i did is over time pick up these books which do basically what u are talking about and then if i
have a problem and they recommend something like coq10 for example
i google it and see what i come up with. i use 3 books because i like to
take the supplements they all agree with . the best thing is to go to health
stores and barnes and noble and get at least 2 books that u can use
as a reference and then using those then use the internet to see if
there are any problems with what they suggest. i will send u a pm with
my number if u care to call at any time

    A suggestion for Questioner:

Use the 'symptom checker' feature on www.webmd.com , it will narrow down symptoms and possible conditions for you, along with providing some basic information on the issue. For example, if you have a pain in your neck you can click the neck on the model and then select individual symptoms.

Once you have a good idea what the condition is, you can then do a google search for natural herbs or remedies to treat it if that is the method you desire.

Thanks Joe, I'd seen that and similar online diagnostic tools. It looks like finding specific herbal treatments for conditions is still a hit and miss effort.
