I remember in the late eighties, I went to the library for reference on an illustration I was doing (this was pre-Internet). I walked in and there was a display of featured books. I was drawn to A Brief History of Time. Instead of working and getting the reference I needed, I sat there and read the whole book in a comfy chair.

Good-bye Eddie Van Halen. He was a guitar virtuoso—lead guitar and songwriter for Van Halen. I read once that when he was a teenager and his brother was out chasing girls he was always in his room playing his guitar. I saw Van Halen about 15 years ago. It was so much fun. Everybody was rowdy and happy (I got beer spilled on me), including the band. I'm so glad I got to see them.
