I will be doing a dark retreat in May.... I did manage to find one on the U.S.

I was wondering if anybody has done a dark retreat and how their experience went.... specifically relating to OBEs, DMT, experiences with light and entities, etc...

and also what they did during the retreat besides meditating.

and also their recovery/adjustment back to the outside world afterwards.

    Thanks

What is a dark retreat? Is it something like a sensory-deprivation chamber? Or constant meditation?

Sounds like no electricity and no light sources other than daylight.

sensory deprivation... the participant is in total darkness for the entire time..... it leads to significant ramp up in melatonin, pinoline, 5-meo-dmt, and dmt because of the biological reactions to the light deprivation if done long enough... i am doing 10 days

Do you have to eat and go to the bathroom in total darkness? I feel like that would present a bit of challenge  BigSmile

Wow (10 days!)—how interesting. It seems like that could be very transforming. Let us know how it goes. Smile

As far as I know there is no electricity... Certainly NO daylight.... total darkness the entire time....

yes, one does eat in the dark which can be interesting because one does not know what they are eating until they taste it.

going ot the bathroom will present a challenge.

It is a ancient practice of enlightenment... in the past people used to go in caves

    Yeah, sounds really cool!
Is it totally quiet there? I was thinking I could lock myself up in my apartment with the blinds drawn, but then it would not be 100 % dark and I would still hear my noisy neighbors and the construction site outside :-/

This is a common practice for some yogis and buddhists, I know of a monk who has done at least two 30 day dark retreats. They are very powerful, I think you will learn much about yourself. I haven't done one yet mostly due to lack of opportunity, but one day I'm sure. Meditating in total darkness is one of my favorite methods though.

I never experienced a 'dark retreat' and I'm curious about it, so please inform us afterwards.

Although I have experienced OBEs, for my case it usually begin with 'seeing while my eyes closed'.
And no matter how 'dark' the room is I will always be able to see.

If there's any tips / suggestions that I can share is, no matter what happened don't feel afraid.
As 'fear' will lower your vibration, know that you're always safe and there's nothing to worry about.
Your frequency will be a match towards specific 'realm' that you will experience.
I usually use the analogy of radio station for this, the frequency that you're tuning in will resulted in specific radio station that you're listening.

If it happens that you're experiencing the 'not so nice' realm, then it's also possible to increase your vibration during an OBE, just think and feel about loving thought and your surrounding will change.
It's also possible to 'meditate' within an OBE, so it's like 'double layer of meditating' and it also works to increase your vibration.

For those who are curious on what does the 'realms' look like, I might suggests to see the works of Jurgen Ziewe
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRHgi-1...tEQ/videos
He's an "OBE-ers" and he's been working to visualize what he saw during his OBE in a form of "virtual 3d video".
I can testify that the 3d video there looks close enough to what I've experienced.

    Have Fun Exploring!

Thank you... I am hoping to make it to the Akashic Records which is in the higher portion of the 4th dimension... I realize that if I think thoughts of love that my vibration should keep me out of the lower portions of the 4th dimension which is where I could experience negative entities

Even though I haven't done a dark retreat in particular, I have done other forms, the one piece of advice I would offer would be to go in to it with no expectations. I think in any kind of retreat setting it's important to let the experience do its work rather than try to "aim" with the experience. Let yourself be the arrow and life be your bow.

Sounds like great advice. Thank you
