Today is the longest day of the year and the highest point of the sun will be today. Harvest is supposed to be this year on the Winter Solstice so perhaps its opposite will have significance as well. In any case I`ve felt like celebrating the summer solstice last year too.

I love solstices in general, although I'm more of a Winter Solstice type of person. I used to be heavily involved in folk dancing and folk music, and the Winter Solstice is the most important time of the year for such devotees. In fact, as I look back on it, many of the best experiences of my life were connected with mid-winter dancing and music.

I should get back into that again.
