Look for an example... "All of the lights" could sound positive and inportant but... There is a but.

They are talking about physical light bulbs. "fast cars, shooting stars". "Till its vegas everywhere".

Its like a stupid love song. Make people think that love is something shallow and stupid. So here, its making people think that lights are only these material things we see in our daily life. Also, Las Vegas is a symbol of our f***** up society, with all the hotels that throw billions of tons of food, all of the electricity, pollution... Casinos that resemble greed. See? It's all in perception Crown. If you choose to interpret songs in that way, then that's what they'll be to you, and that's the effect they'll have on you.

Daydreamin chooses to perceive the songs towards positivity and light. Even if they writer of the song didn't mean for a song to mean what Daydreamin chooses for it to mean, it will still only effect him (or her) that way.

The song may be "$hit" to you because you choose to look at it that way, it doesn't mean it is the same for everyone else.

you can view the song in different ways, i think it's inventive to use Vegas as a metaphor. it's fun. and if it cheers people up in a "shallow" way it's still positive. might not be shallow. all art is in the hands of the perceiver, so when i listen to lumi songs i'm like i don't care what they meant with it, i take it in a way that brings me joy. that nullifies their impact on me and i create my own happiness with it.

And did y'all listen to "The Show Goes On?" That song lifts me b/c I interpret as Lupe telling us that yeah we're playing the Game of Life and even when they turn the lights on the Show Goes On. Basically get in where ya fit in. And no matter what.............THE SHOW GOES ON! And it resonates for me b/c there's little doubt that the music industry is and has been controlled by the illuminati and if you've read 'Hidden Hand's' interview/questionaire then you've read where he says, "The object of the Game, is to wake up within the 'dream', and in effect, become a 'Lucid Gamer'. Namasté ." And I feel as if I'm slowly 'waking up' in this dream.




As for that Katy Perry ET song.....the first time I heard that I wasn't sure what to think? But the more I hear it the more I tend to think maybe men are from Mars and women from Venus. My whole life I've felt as if music was telling a message and since I was little I used write down lyrics to every song and memorize it. Lupe Fiasco is a 'good guy.' He even went on David Letterman and performed his song "Words I Never Said" and at the end of the performance said, "Say no to the New World Order." Also, Lupe if you don't know is Muslim which is a whole 'nother story when it comes to where the World is headed or 'could' be headed.
