Quote:Your mind attempts to reduce all of life to words, feeling, and abstract thoughts or bites of data. Example: Your sense of sight sees a rose. Instead of coming to you directly as all that a rose really is, it is turned into the word “rose.” It is then disregarded or filed away as a memory without letting you experience it.

Editing your life: If you have seen something before, your mind does not consider it important to see it again and does not let you see it; it edits your life. When you see a rose through the mind, you do not see it as it truly is. Your mind does this with everything unless it perceives it as new, special, or dangerous.

    Important, thanks.

I "get it". I often, though, find myself looking at something like a rose, or a path I travel, or . . . as if I am seeing it again for the first time and don't have a label for it yet. It's so interesting what you can discover if you are able to do that and remove the "label" filter.

    Thanks for the reminder!

A few random thoughts inspired by the article:

    1) If all humankind were to be "in the now" all the time, what would happen to evolution? Would it reach a plateau from lack of catalyst or forward motion? It seems to me that we are balancing for some time to come through densities.

In addition, it seems a human trait to latch onto a concept without much rational consideration--an emotional reaction or realization without the balancing effect of objective discernment. The mind in this life cannot be discarded as far as I can see.

Even Eckhart Tolle says the mind needs to be used at times, and herein lies another balancing act. As far as I can tell, one cannot navigate this life without mind. If anyone thinks so, I would like to hear how it could be done.

(I'm not arguing against being in the now. Just discussing it for fun.)

    2) I have achieved the state of "presence" a lot, as I live close to nature and that is one great way to become "present." I can also become "present" by creating (art, writing) to the point that times suspends, or in meditation. They all feel differently to me. I wouldn't call any of them bliss, which I feel is a melodramatic, grandiose word; rather, it feels peaceful, relaxed, "right," like a river that was clogged with debris and is now flowing freely and happily as it should.

    3) I have often thought how much we take for granted, from hearsay, from the media. Probably 99% of what we think we know comes from hearsay, the other 1% being our own direct experience (which is still an interpretation). This is speaking to the physical world.

    4) It occurs to me that humans tend to exaggerate all things, perhaps to simplify a complex existence. They have to know instead of just observe with an open mind. They want to reach bliss or heaven or enlightenment instead of just accepting the natural flow of evolution.

"In the now" all the time is only achievable with that 6D balance. That "ground of being" consciousness does not serve humankind's evolution.

The exaggeration is an attempt to magnify some currently unacceptable idea in order that it may be better perceived and therefore eventually addressed in some conscious manner. The zealotry that we often see in these forums is an example of exaggeration.
