I'm 99.99% sure the high view count is from Google and other web crawlers scanning the thread, that way it's up to date when you utilize said search engine. It is nice to think that up to 1.2 million people viewed the thread, though.

I will confirm, however, that web crawlers and GoogleBots do "not" add to the page view count! They are filtered, according to the MyBB forums. Guests and member views *are* added to the count, so it's more than likely that humans have hit our pages before deciding whether Bring4th matched their search or not.

I should have been more specific... I meant that the high view counts could be caused by either or a combination of both web crawlers/people clicking on search results. The only way I could rule out the web crawlers is if Steve came forward and said our forums filter out those views, which he has done.

However, I still find it a bit hard to believe that people clicking google search results plus forum members/guests could account for 1.9 million views. Especially in threads like this in particular. If you google the phrase "all the world's a stage", bring4th isn't in the first few pages of results (I checked the first 10 pages).

Is there some forum mod that filters out views by unique forum members so you could at least narrow that down? Obviously you cant filter out guests/people clicking forum results.

I'm curious, too, about what google searches might be bringing people to the thread. I also couldn't come up with any that put bring4th in the first few pages.
