so we have this famous dictum of 'know thyself".   I think most of us here would recognise it's value.

And yet, what is the opposite of such seeking?  is that the sinkhole of indifference?  That is, not choosing to acknowledge and comprehend the deeper aspects of self, but rather, choosing to stay on a superficial level?

Plenum, in my view the opposite of "know thyself" is a few things, in the same way that there are multiple delusions but one truth.

    - Living on instinct/autopilot, not examining and seeking to understand one's motives, thoughts and emotions

    - Believing oneself to be a human living in a material world (as opposed to the Creator in human disguise)

Those are the main two that come to mind.

    This came to mind:

"Those truly helpless are those who have not consciously chosen but who repeat patterns without knowledge of the repetition or the meaning of the pattern."

It's really sad to see someone be stuck in the same pattern, repeating it over and over again, bringing suffer and whatnot to itself (and others probably), and that this entity has absolutely no understanding of neither the pattern or its repetition which plays again and again.

Lack of intimate awareness of less distorted attributes which characterize the self beyond the ornamental ephemeral persona donned by the consciousness (i.e. dismissal or ignorance regarding one's innate metaphysicality and emphasized focus upon factors which spawn from illusory or non-primary qualities, such as one's attire, creative/artistic preferences, anchoring to passing thoughts or shifting dispositions, fluctuations in emotion or temporary subjective interpretations/opinions/viewpoints, etc.) might be the closest to the polar opposite of 'knowing thyself' as, fundamentally, an existential version manifestation experiential node of the One Infinite Creator furthering Its theocentric evolution through consciousness & existence via each of our (read: Its) infinitely multitudinous existential continuums.

Paradoxically, even when one is immersed in such awareness not entirely aligned with 'pure Self-knowingness', such alternatives in Self-identification provide greater leeway for greater venues into higher knowledge of Oneself both for It and for Us via the allocation of integration of varying degrees of data and the junctioning of insights generated by insightful integration and existential reflection & experiential procession of such biodata.
