This is totally not a post belonging here. I accept my punishment beforehand.

I will give a personal view of what I know to be a misinterpretation of intentions on my part. This is a fact. I read a certain phrase and it makes my cringe a little. I know it is meant in a kind way, but it doesn't sit right with me. I confess, I must consciously look over it when reading a post.

The term that doesn't feel good to me is being referred to as "brother." I know. I know. It is just me, but it feels forceful and demanding kind of like "I told you so" or "you better not forget".

Let's just express our conscious misinterpretations of language usage in this forum. Express yourself.

I bet your wondering how anyone could take offense to the kind expression "brother.". Well, I'm one and nobody knew it until now.

(note: I know how to correct my thinking, but it's like a disliked food, I'll probably not develop a taste for it. No need to make me feel better about it)

3DM doesn't like the word brother. Check. Wink

For me it is the most beautiful word ever. When I feel love for another human and want to express that love there one word for it and it is - brother!

I will not call you that from now on though.

No. No no. I wasn't requesting anybody tip toe around me. I'll delete this thread if that's the result.

Sister is more acceptable to me for some reason. (I'm a hetero male everyone)

I see that stop using this word when I am adressing you would be a sign of my respect for you.

3DMonkey, while I may not use the expression often, you are my brother and you can't help it! Tongue

Well, regarding the misinterpreted intentions, I am not so much into disliking any words, but what I sometimes find tirening is that threads often derail. I don't know if it is because people see only what they want to see, or because they don't read the whole thing properly, or both for that matter. But I feel that the main questions are often not answered, instead there are loads of other discussions and side topics, which sometimes can be entertaining while the main question is still left unanswered.

Yeah. I'm guilty of that. One question or comment will get my mind reeling and light up other areas. I can't help myself. Perhaps I should start new threads when I go off base. LOL. Honestly, I typed out this thread starter in a different thread. Last minute I decided to copy and paste for a new thread.
Also, I feed off the last post sometimes without reading the original post. Hehehe, somtimes it annoys me when people bring the discussion back to topic. Seriously. LMAO!
How about when I write a thread starter that I'm excited about and nobody is interested in? Oh wait, that's not a misinterpretation, that's just a personal problem. (set up. Joke)

I take no offense to this...labels don't matter to me. I'd call you Spongebob Squarepants if that's what you were comfortable with. BigSmile

What *would* you prefer to be called, by the way? Just 3Dmonkey?

Ha! How about we just be real informal and go with girl or girlfriend?

I was walking down the street and, girl!, you wouldn't believe who I saw!
