I have been working to loosen and ultimately dissolve any attachments I have to my pain and issues and to not identify with them anymore. I feel like I have made some very real progress in that regard. I guess I'm just trying to figure out the most effective and efficient system of doing all of this, if such a thing exists. I think maybe at this point, patience and perseverance are things I need to practise and cultivate. One of the things I struggle with is this anxiety to get it all done ASAP and to have it all wrapped up in a neat little package. Funny thing is that patience will probably speed up the process even more. There are some books on shadow work which I may check out. Do you have any books or sources that you can recommend? Thank you to everyone for the replies, I do appreciate it. Peace.

One book I would recommend is Mastery by George Leonard. It's a pretty simple, straightforward book on becoming the master of your own experience, and reading it altered my entire approach to life.

There's also a book called Flow, the Optimal Psychological Experience by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. I confess I haven't finished it, but from what I've read so far I think you might like it.

If I think of any others I'll pass them along as well.

Yera, your story was fascinating to me. It is very different from my own experience, yet I feel a strange kinship with you.
you stated in response to my story that you thought it was brave of me to share. I feel the bravery of you showed in your own sharing is inspiring. You are in position to be able to serve others now in a very unique way.
Also, I can not overstate the eloquence of your writing. it was a joy to read. Many thanks Yera.

I get that response quite often. It's harder to find a person who doesn't remember or feel connected to my essence in some inexplicable way. Prolly cause I'm older than dirt. Tongue

Writing has always come easily to me. I hope to one day successfully publish some stuff. A lack of personal organization has inhibited that thus far, but there's plenty of future left.
