Confused, most of the time you are in such a good mood. I'm getting that way.
It's better than it used to be.

    Yay, page 100.

I totally agree with you, Confused. Let nature speak and reveal its secrets.

Oh, lemme guess before I click the link! Hondo the forest in Utah, if I remember the name and location correctly. BigSmile

Bleh... Well I was thinking of 'Pando'. It is a grove of aspen trees in Utah that has been determined to be all one organism. It is the heaviest and oldest known living organism on the Earth. So I guess it depends what you would consider to be "largest". I would argue Pando is larger since its heavier.

I think they are talking about the total length of the mycelia of that fungus. "#DidYouKnow one piece of mycelium the size of a watch battery and the weight of a housefly can produce a gallon of mycelium, which in turn can produce about 280,000 pounds of mushrooms?" That's pretty impressive, because in this case we are talking about 2.4 miles of mycelia.

Very interesting... I did not realize many of the conclusions / questions posed in this article. I did not realize that was the 2003 sunspots were the ones that produced that massive solar flare. It is quite interesting this sunspot produced a plethora of flares, but only one CME. It highlights how little we know about the behavior of the Sol.

I had very recently read about the Halloween Solar Storm of 2003 during Solar Cycle 23 in which an X45 (!!!!) class flare was recorded. I also remember when I read about the sunspot in question (AR2192) was about to surpass the two large sunspots back in 2003.

Hello Parsons. Apologies for the delay in reply.

It looks like you deal with these things at a much more serious level. I am more of a dilettante. That is why I wanted to research on what you said before addressing your remarks. While researching, I found this. You may find it interesting --
