Well, I can't think of anything more traumatic than being a part of the handful of survivors of your civilization being destroyed. Plus, 100% of the population would have been effected rather than a (relatively) small percentage in the holocaust. So I guess I lept to that because it's the most extreme case I could think of that had survivors.
