I wish I could contribute here, but I'm not a poet. I'm not even a writer. I'm a "feeler" - and your poems make me feel good! Thank you for sharing, and for the birthday wishes - it was a wonderful day, and your poems were the icing on the cake.
And Confused - you still don't seem so confused to me - and your poems here reinforce that feeling.
Blessings, light, and lots of love to each of you - keep your words flowing!

Thank you very much, dear Ruth. Thank you Heart

(09-15-2011, 10:22 PM)haqiqu Wrote: What causes the sorrow?

A great philosopher of the past asked,
    what causes the sorrow?
    Don't we know we borrow,
    of the ONE's own marrow?

    I sorrow,
    because I fear tomorrow.
    What is this tomorrow,
that always casts a long shadow?

The power lies in the NOW,
yet I do not want to plow,
on the soil of faith and will.
And I wonder why I am ill.

In isolation, flash moments of divine inspiration,
that dissipate in the chaos of everyday narration.
The narration of work and the narration of relationships,
the narration of health and the narration of wealth.

    I desire this unconscious narration,
    to turn into conscious co-creation.

    I co-create, a state of silence,
where the ONE self, rules in her all glorious radiance.

    And I merge into herself,
    which ceases for me,
all tomorrows and the attendant sorrows.

Beautiful, C. I think we should publish a book some time, with all the wonderful poems that everyone here created. This thread is like a beautiful oasis that reinvigorates the mind and soul.

    Hi, Ruth!
you don't have to be a poet or even a writer to post here. none of the poems i post were created by me. i find spiritual poetry that resonates with my soul and i pass it on here. if you find a poem that sings to your soul please feel free to share it with us (with a credit given to the author).

    Having Come This Far

I've been through what my through was to be
    I did what I could and couldn't
I was never sure how I would get there

I nourished an ardor for thresholds
for stepping stones and for ladders
    I discovered detour and ditch

I swam in the high tides of greed
I built sandcastles to house my dreams
I survived the sunburns of love

No longer do I hunt for targets
I've climbed all the summits I need to
and I've eaten my share of lotus

Now I give praise and thanks
for what could not be avoided
    and for every foolhardy choice

I cherish my wounds and their cures
and the sweet enervations of bliss
My book is an open life

I wave goodbye to the absolutes
and send my regards to infinity
I'd rather be blithe than correct

    Until something transcendent turns up
I splash in my poetry puddle
and try to keep God amused.

    While God definitely seems amused,
    I am clearly bemused.
O Creator, in every act of ours,
you experience yourself in vivid colors.
This is a bitter-sweet realization for me,
that I am you but yet not you,
for you experience yourself through an individuated me,
in what seems to be a relationship of confusing bigamy.
What is it that you are experiencing,
    O Infinite Intelligence underpinning creation?
Have not countless galaxies and planets filled you with enough information,
that describes that there exist pockets of extreme tribulation.
Experience yourself, O Creator, but also know,
    that we have a right,
    to know our true plight,
in this vast panorama of your cosmic delight.

    Half Life

We walk through half our life
as if it were a fever dream

    barely touching the ground

    our eyes half open
    our heart half closed.

Not half knowing who we are
we watch the ghost of us drift
    from room to room
    through friends and lovers
never quite as real as advertised.

    Not saying half we mean
    or meaning half we say
    we dream ourselves
    from birth to birth
    seeking some true self.

    Until the fever breaks
and the heart can not abide
    a moment longer
as the rest of us awakens,
    summoned from the dream,
not half caring for anything but love.

i remember that dream life, too, that i lived before i realized there was more than what meets the eye. i wouldn't go back to that half dream of life, though. i value my spiritual higher consciousness too much. BigSmile

    Fall Song

    Another year gone, leaving everywhere
its rich spiced residues: vines, leaves,

    the uneaten fruits crumbling damply
    in the shadows, unmattering back

    from the particular island
of this summer, this NOW, that now is nowhere

    except underfoot, moldering
    in that black subterranean castle

of unobservable mysteries - roots and sealed seeds
and the wanderings of water. This

I try to remember when time's measure
painfully chafes, for instance when autumn

flares out at the last, boisterous and like us longing
to stay - how everything lives, shifting

from one bright vision to another, forever
    in these momentary pastures.

    i aint worried about nuttin

why worry if u have faith

    whatever is going to happen

either goddess hears my prayer and answers them

    or she doesnt

either way we control very little in this life

if i have to walk in fear

shoot me now and put me out of my misery

goddess is the one who blesses me

    my life flows from her

so i put my faith and trust in her

    and roll the dice

and look forward to the future

    with hope and anticipation

    a better world is coming

dont ask me how i know

    i just do

and you and i are going to be a big part of it

no more phony leaders who care only about themselves

but true men and women, lovers of their fellow man

i cant freaking wait, lets get this bad boy on !!

hey brother C, im not so much of a bad boy as a rebel. i have the uncomfortable habit
of actually saying how i feel about things instead of hiding it lol. and i think the time period
we are in will call for us more and more to let others know what lives inside of us. peace to you

    look at love

    look at love
    how it tangles
with the one fallen in love

    look at spirit
    how it fuses with earth
    giving it new life
    why are you so busy
with this or that or good or bad
pay attention to how things blend

    why talk about all
    the known and the unknown
see how the unknown merges into the known

    why think separately
of this life and the next
when one is born from the last

look at your heart and tongue
one feels but deaf and dumb
the other speaks in words and signs

    look at water and fire
    earth and wind
enemies and friends all at once

    the wolf and the lamb
    the lion and the deer
    far away yet together

look at the unity of this
    spring and winter
    manifested in the equinox

you too must mingle my friends
since the earth and the sky
are mingled just for you and me

    be like sugarcane
    sweet yet silent
don't get mixed up with bitter words

my beloved grows right out of my own heart
how much more union can there be?

That is a very good habit. In fact, if otherwise, it might lead to psychological repression and inner turmoil.

Good that we have an outlet here at b4th to open our most vulnerable and rebellious side. Heart

    Love you, dear brother.

letting go of all opinion and judgement

i spread my arms and reach to the skies

    i welcome my divinity

limitations do not work for me anymore

    soon brothers , soon sisters,

i think you're right, norral. it will grow. many of these people are young adults who have lost jobs and also faith in the system. they're in for the long haul. after 8 or 9 days they are, finally, getting some main stream media coverage, but at this point it may likely be negative. i've been watching it on the global revolution live stream. saw the senseless police brutality yesterday. it appears pretty calm today. my heart is with them and i'm sending all involved healing reiki energy.

    a free man

i'd rather live as a free man

standing naked and hungry in the middle of winter on a corner

than safely in the home of somedominating master

    warm and kept

    but enslaved

if i ever lived a life as a slave

    then i killed myself

couldnt take it the supreme arrogance of the master

    not for this brother

give me liberty or give me death

yeah i can relate to that

    Meerie,

Wall Street in New York has been occupied for 10(?) days now by approximately 2000 people who are fed up with corporate mogol's and banker's lying, conniving, greedy ways. they're not actually on Wall Street, but at a park near by. when they tried to march to the actual Wall St. stock market building many were harassed and arrested, brutally, by police so they retreated to a nearby park.

you can watch it live here:

    http://www.livestream.com/globalrevolution

see Odinn's post for more links to info.

mainstream media has blacked it out so news is getting out by kids with cell phones using twitter and this livestream broadcast.

let me turn off the compassion valve

others suffering does not bother me

so long as my bonus is big

i can never ever get enuf

the world revolves only around me

    golden toilet bowls and sinks

yachts and summers at the vineyard

    children with no medical care

    not really my problem

they are lazy why dont they get up and work

    like i do

alright i got my job thru the network

i never do any work around my own house

that is what the help is for

the guys name is joe or steve or something like that

    not really important to me

they are the help u know

they need to know their place

    while we serve ourselves

    at the table of greed
