i couldn't find the passage with the dates in them last night but broadly what i remember of it is that while wanderers have been incarnating obviously for a long time, these waves, large groups incarnating during a fairly small time period, came to effect specific change - the hippie movement and the environmental movement being the two most obvious

Upon reflection, it makes more sense to me having been here a long time. I remember my last two incarnate deaths, the prior end being in ~1918 and the one before that in about ~1871. I am pretty sure I have been here much longer than that though. I can remember soldiering as a Roman, with memories of marching and of battle (nothing glamorous, just a foot soldier).
