when you look at the sun
you are looking at a mirror

it is showing you a reflection
that is perfectly clear

don't shy away
you are that grand

and this planet called earth
is the promised land

your petals unfolded like dreams

remember how you felt in the morning?
as you welcomed the sun's first beams

remember how slowly you opened?
taking in more and more light

remember how many beings you touched?
just through your fragrance and sight

remember the intimate connection?
you had with the buzzing bees

remember the joyful music?
dancing to the birds melodies

remember the day you were picked?
as a gift for an unsuspecting girl

remember how dearly she loved you?
placing you between her ear and a curl
