Two thoughts:
1) I don't know the exact behavior "chakra balancing" refers to as used by all of you guys, but ray balance and un-distorting as described by the Ra material is a fundamental aspect of spiritual evolution. You can stop at rough balance, but you also can continue to balance and brighten your rays infinitely, and this can be a primary means of evolution. Certainly however, directly attempting to balance your rays via energy isn't as long lasting as attempting to balance your rays by incorporating the appropriate beliefs concerning the particular sub-aspect of love the ray entails. It's definitely good to have more than one tool, however, as I'm learning as I'm going through the tarot. The easy of use of any given tool is also particular to an individual. I've found it super easy to tell energetic differences in my rays, whereas some others can find it more difficult. Thus, I'm naturally drawn to picking this tool more often than not, due its effectiveness and ease of use. But I'm also looking to add more tools, and gain familiarity with them. Variety is the spice of life, right?
2) In individual cases, chakras can be much more than feedback devices on balancing. In my case, I definitely have some sort of pseudo-psychic/pseudo-channeling green ray ability. I don't think I'm supposed to know who exactly is communicating through it, but I believe my green-ray energy activates when I'm getting a message from my oversoul.
