Many of the organic compounds emitted by garlic (cut garlic in particular) are rich in sulfur. Does anyone know of any connection (alchemical, occult, etc) that could specifically tie the astral repellent properties of garlic to sulfur?

lol seems anagogy alluded to this connection already but i was wondering if anyone knew anything more about the link
