Had a fairly engrossing dream as usual, though I only recall the last 5% in a manner that is 'coherent'.
That being, I find myself in the middle of a sandy tropical island, and I somehow know I've been here before. There were a species of large intelligent crabs here (I'm talking 10 ft high) with human controllers (Not in the negative sense, similar to horses or pets), who were the local village folk. Anyway, me and a small group find ourselves in the middle of this sandy platform which just sort of descends downwards with us on it. It eventually stops and we see door openings and secret egyptian cave style entrances that were not there before as it was hidden. I see a large staircase going back up so I climb that and find myself back on the top. I conceptually receive the understanding and 'see' that these village folk, when riding the crabs, were somehow now 'absorbed', or a 'part of' the crab. They were not themselves or retained their original identity and so lost control of the crab. However when one of the people in our group tried mounting one we retained our human form.
I interpreted that to mean the island denoted an aspect of the conscious mind. As I and a group of others were doing our work we found we were able to descend deeper into the depths of the conscious mind to the unconscious, or deeper authentic self, and uncover what had lay hidden. The stairs indicated the ability to 'ascend' or 'rise above' once again, finding my way back with ease. The large crabs to me were my predisposed instinctual primitive cancerian aspects, particularly the 'crabby' attitudes. Our ability to ride the crab indicated that the work we/I were doing meant we were now able to maintain control (be my 'true self') and work with the crab/those aspects rather than 'give in' and be absorbed or taken over by lower impulses, which the 'village natives' (Earth folk) had happen.
