The only way weight loss worked for me was by eating a lot better. Very simple. And of course exercise, but nothing ever extreme. Plus I'm lazy anyway who needs to loose at max 30 pounds right now again.
I do think diet is more important when it comes to weight loss by itself. 15 years ago I lost about 30 pounds in 2 months by eating 5 or 6 times a week of lighter, but real healthy meals and little/basic exercise. It was actually pretty easy. I ate my way to a new body and just dealt with it.
A protein/meat source. Need that Vitamin B12 somehow. If you are vegetarian then look for the best meatless alternative like Quorn, so I have read. Hemp is always welcome too.
The obvious fruits and vegetables. The majority of our daily diet I believe should derive from this group. Just pick which ones you already like that are proven to be good and feel free to try others but keep to healthy ones. Apple slices with skin along with 2 Stevia packs and cinnamon is pretty good for breakfast. You can also add a protein. Fruits and veggies can be used for meals and snacks.
Eat a handful of raw healthy nuts. Use some organic sea salt if you must. I usually use these for a snack and get the real healthy fats.
Drink WATER, preferably with no fluoride with every meal and snack. Water is like Drano for your body. You'll probably experience yourself going to the bathroom a bit more. If you get bottled water, try adding 2 Stevia packs and a dash of lemon juice and shake that up and see if you like it. If not, feel free to create your own sugar free flavored water, or just drink plain water. When it comes to liquids, water is the best choice for overall health so use juice and milk sparingly throughout the week.
Most of all, try to keep it whole and preferably organic if you can afford it. Stay away from processed junk food. Sorry, as we all love these foods. Admit it but a great dinner for me is grilled or baked skinless chicken breasts and cherry tomatoes.
I try not eat dairy or soy and tap water. You can use almond milk in place of regular milk and feel free to make an almond chocolate organic milk treat.
Take some vitamin supplements, like B12 and Omega Fatty Acids and maybe an overall supplement. Make sure you get top quality. If the store doesn't have the good stuff, don't buy it. It's schwag.
And as always, get a cheat day once a week to eat foods you crave. Moderation for the cheat day though, but use your better judgement. It may tell you more about who you really are on a cheat day based on your temptations, if any. You may also find yourself getting an upset stomach and visiting the toilet right after if you eat greasy and/or processed foods if you have done the meal plans regularly.
