I dreamed I was ravenously hungry, walking along a strip mall, looking for something to eat. I found a type of pup and went inside. It was a very dull atmosphere. All the colors were muted. There were items listed on a menu at the front of the store, but no descriptions or prices were listed. I saw that they had baked potatoes and told the cashier I would like a dressed baked potato. She told me that would be $23.00 and I said there was no way I was paying such an outrageous price for a single potato and left.
As I exited the store, I almost ran into what looked like a thick, cloudy grey pole with blob-like protrusions coming off of it. The thought of accidentally touching it filled me with such revulsion that I nearly screamed and quickly stepped away. After I had moved the pole looked like tall, spindly cactus, and I wondered if my eyes had played tricks on me, though it was still incredibly odd to find a cactus growing in the middle of Kentucky.
I then looked at the sky, which was filled with beautiful sunset colors, but the clouds were the same strange grey as the pole thing. They were thick and stringy and looked too heavy to stay in the air. They were hanging very low to the ground and I felt like if I touched them they would be solid. The oddness of it was enough to make me temporarily lucid, but then my hunger pulled me back into my original dream objective. I walked by several restaurants, feeling frustrated because I felt like there was something very specific I wanted to eat that I couldn't find anywhere.
