Love and Trust
In the world of dreams, they flash like dragons.
Their souls bleed with the promise of new colors.
They move as shadows, half-real, ethereal
and their breath freezes the air in my lungs.
They are heavy and light, quick and deliberate,
and when they touch you, they see you.
Nothing is done without meaning.
Their kiss is to become the star of God.
They throb with the pulse of primordial fear,
and their every glance is a call of desire.
Hidden ones overflow with the forbidden,
awaiting those with the fearlessness to reach.
They do not speak, they cut your soul,
implanting smoking embers in your veins.
They know all your limits, how far to push,
and when to push past, ruthlessly tender.
See them, the monsters who love you.
In a burst of shadowed wings, razor claws
and the caress of heaven’s dawn, and you;
you in the grip of love and trust and Death:
you will be reborn.
